A 3.5-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen having a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels comes with the Karbonn K78 powered by only 64MB of RAM. The smartphone has a 1.3MP camera with 1280 x 1024 pixels resolution on the rear face but lacks any kind of front shooter. Additional camera features include digital zoom and support for video recording.
Although Karbonn K78 has a low internal memory of 128MB, it has a microSD slot that is expandable up to 8GB. Connectivity options loaded in the dual SIM smartphone are GPRS, USB port and Bluetooth. It is fuelled by a Li-ion battery of 1,050 mAh which according to Karbonn, can deliver up to 4 hours of talktime and up to 200 hours of standby time in 2G network.
The Karbonn K78 is another handset from a brand which targets people who aren't ready to buy the expensive smartphones. To justify the low price, the company has abstained from including a front camera and 3G connectivity. The average battery backup is bound to increase the buyer's worries.
