Overall User Rating (4.1 Out of 5 based on 39 ratings)
Overall: No one would disagree with me when I say that one thing that sells the most today is a mobile phone. These small yet useful devices have become an important part of our lives today, so much that one would hardly believe that these actually came into existence just around a couple of decades ago. Against all odds, when I had to buy a new phone for myself, I chose to go with a rather new player on the block, Lava. This was also based upon the research that I ran online among different handsets, and found the ones from Lava to be most reasonably priced.
I have owned Lava Iris 506Q for about a few days now. This dual-sim phone feels no better than the higher priced mobile phones, and at times even gives better performance than most of them. If you too have any plans about buying a phone, here s a quick review of this beauty from me to help you decide for the right one.
Look and Feel
Lava Iris 506Q scores well in this section. It seems to have been designed keeping into mind the generation of today, and anyone, including me cannot just keep eyes off this sheer beauty of a phone, with the curves that would beat every other phone hands down. Its screen size is of 5 inches, and with the inclusion of gesture control feature the fun factor of using this phone goes way higher
Running on 512MB of RAM, this phone has 1.2GHz Quad Core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. Not many phones of today come with a processor like this phone has, which keeps this phone in an elite group of phones, which actually mean business and are super-fast in executing all the tasks, even simultaneously. The phone has 4GB of internal storage, with more than 2GB of it available for use. I also inserted a 16GB memory card into it, though I could use up to 32GB card with this phone.
This is one let-down as per me. The camera, despite being of 5MP, is not able to give the kind of performance that one would expect from it. Pictures when clicked from close view are better in their quality though. I also have to keep it unmoved to click it clearly. Presence of flash makes the experience a bit better. Its secondary camera is of VGA resolution, so I didn t have much expectation from it, but surprisingly, it s good enough for video calling, though yeah, stability factor again comes into picture.
All of the other smartphone features such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, etc. are also there in this phone. The phone also came with a flip cover, which enhanced its look significantly. All in all, just like everything else, there phone has its share of pros and cons, but for me, it s the best buy and I am pretty sure that I made a wise decision by purchasing it.
