The LG GT505 is a device that strikes the golden medium and delivers a decent set of functions at an affordable price. The interesting thing about the phone is itu00b4s one of the few handsets by LG that take advantage of the so-called Wisepilot navigation......

If you want anything approaching a smartphone-like feature set, you’ll generally be looking at a fairly hefty price tag. However, for every high-end feature there’s a budget alternative. These are the kind of compromises that, much like the LG Cookie before it, allow the GT505 to retain the impression of a relatively cutting edge phone, if only at a distance. This is the LG GT505. It measures 107mm tall by 54.5mm wide by 11.8mm deep and it weighs just 98 grams. The LG GT505 has a rear facing 5-megapixel camera with an incredibly small photo light that probably won't do much to illuminate a dark room, but we assume it will help. The LG GT505 has 3G and Wi-Fi, so you should be able to keep up with your friends' latest activities on Facebook with relative ease. Similar to the GT500, the GT505 has inbuilt...

LG`s GT505 is exclusive to Orange on a contract. It isn`t technically a smartphone, but you can download Java apps in the form of widgets. These reside in a bar at the bottom of the screen and can be dropped on to the home screen. You can auto-arrange the widgets by shaking the phone, and swiping a finger along the top of the screen takes you to your favourite contacts. There are icons at the bottom of the screen for the dialler, contacts, messag...

Verdict: LG's hardware has potential, but the GT505 is hamstrung by a lack of bundled applications and external memory....
