The Eclipse is the male version of the much loved Q55 QWERTY slider...

Pros: dual SIM ; good speaker ; responsive optical trackpad ; looks ; 3.5 mm audio jack ; QWERTY keypad

Cons: poor camera ; no WiFi ; no 3G ; flat keys ; no dedicated sound keys

Overall: That one star that I have given for the phone is all for the flipkart.com's customer care and also because there is no option of giving no star.nnIt's only redeeming quality is its sleek looks coupled with its smooth swivel.nn1- Sim slots- There are two and neither of them works. One slot worked for 2 days and then it too said "sim access error". Since the sims are working in my Nokia handsets, I will have to place the blame on this pretty but useless mobile.nn2- The "-" button is meant to decrease volume but does nothing. Though the "+" works.nn3- The songs in memory card is not accessible neither are the contacts. It's internal memory is only 19MB so I get the need for memory card slot but, if its not going to be accessible, why put it there.nn4- The mobile phone cover- Like the phone, it is pretty but of low quality. It is peeling off like a snake's seasonal moulting.nnFlipkart.com customer care were nice enough to replace the mobile as soon as I complained to them. nnTHE SECOND HANDSET HAS THE SAME ISSUES AS THE FIRST.nnI bought the handset based on some of the wonderful reviews that users like us have given on flipkart.com. I should have looked for reviews on techie sites. If i had done that I would have saved myself the headache that I am facing now.nnSo, in the end I have ended up with a Rs.2999/- worth telephone book that needs charging.

Overall: The phone is absolutely marvellous in design. Fashionable, trendy and the accessories are extremely helpful.nBy the mention of accessories, I would like to mention that:n1) the box DOES contain a data-cable, andn2) the headset port DOES support 3.5 mm jacksneven though if these features are not mentioned in the website.nnThe platform from Micromax is a bit rigid and it is hard to find its version from the handset or from the Internet but otherwise, rest assured, it is the best that can be offered at this low price.nnSound quality is extremely good from both the speaker on the phone or the SRS WOW headset (the stereo headset is actually mind-blowing though don't know how long good times would last). The in-built music player is a downer. Have to use the lower QWERTY keypad for volume control. Can't do so from the top or from the headset.nnThe user interface is responsive if not a bit too sensitive. The optical track-pad is very sensitive though can't guarantee on its longevity. The swivel is best if used carefully. The phone itself comes with a classy pouch for handy usage.nnCalling is a funky experience. You won't have to open the keypad to receive calls. (It appears as if you are talking through a black pebble.) For ending conversations, only a nudge in the side is enough. Sending messages can be a trouble if you are going to "Write messages" directly from the shortcuts. I am consciously avoiding that and have not yet found any problems regarding so.nnPicture quality is good, but nothing overwhelming. The images are blurred even with the nslightest movements, not to mention the absence of flash effectively darkening them. Video quality is okay but the real downer is the less compatibility of other formats of video and image files which also is unjustified keeping in mind the phone has upto 8 GB expandability.nnConnecting to the Internet is swift through the Opera 4.2. Java applications and other downloads for the phone is a choosy affair with very less choices in the online market. Again, the uncertain proprietary platform does not help in the process.nnAll in all, the phone is brief in size and price and may be a bit low on the otherwise vital functionalities. Yet, a good buy if you are looking for a classy phone, usable as a phone, under low budget. I have just come to use the phone for a couple of days and am hoping to discover more as time passes.nnThank you Flipkart for keeping the delivery promise within 2-3 business days!
