On the European side of the Android world, Motorola hasn't really made the same impact as it has in the US. Moto brings good hardware to the table, yet we live in a Samsung and HTC dominated world. That said, Motorola has been pushing its latest entry-level offering, the Motoluxe, quite hard in the UK. As the weeks since the device’s launch have passed, we've seen press release after press release detailing yet more European mobile ...

Pros: Excellent build quality, especially for an entry level device. Surprisingly competent 8MP camera, with the dedicated camera button a nice touch. Screen is bright and colorful.

Cons: The Motorola software isn't that good, with some pretty bad lag when scrolling between home screens. The activity widget is prone to constant re-drawing. Sound when recording video is poor.

Verdict: For an entry level device, the Motoluxe has a lot to offer. Excellent build quality, coupled with a decent camera and a surprisingly nice screen leave plenty to like. The software leaves it feeling under-powered in places though, and the launcher in ...

Motorola has been pushing the high-end in Android phones for a while now, coaxing early-adopters out of their shells with LTE marvels like the DROID RAZR and the DROID 4, but the MOTOLUXE shows it hasn’t forgotten the entry-level market. Solid and middle-of-the-road is usually the route for affordable devices; still, Motorola hasn’t been able to resist slapping a great big lamp on the front, just for some eye-candy. Is this the best b...

The Android Gingerbread-powered Motorola Motoluxe smartphone is the latest mid-range handset to join the party, but does it bring anything new to the table?...

Verdict: Mid-range smartphones can vary greatly from cheapo budget handsets to phones that are only a few steps down from being top-tier phones....

Shamelessly aimed at fashion-conscious mobile shoppers, Motorola`s Motoluxe has big ideas and lofty ambitions. The thin and alluring case design draws you in close enough for the phone to whisper sweet nothings in your ear about its 8-megapixel camera and large 4-inch LCD screen, but the beauty only goes skin-deep. Once you get to know the phone, its shortcomings are brutally exposed. Instead of dual-core power -- which is slowly but surely creep...

With a 4in screen and 8MP camera this is a surprisingly capable budget Android smartphone....

Pros: Smart design and good build quality ; Large and high-res screen for its price ; 8MP camera with dedicated button

Cons: Too sluggish in general use ; Camera not as good as you`d hope ; Interface is fine but nothing special
