BOTTOM LINE: Featuring a new color scheme and increased storage capacity, Nokia announced the new N91 8GB from the Open Studio event in New York yesterday.
PROS: Superb music playback ; ergonomic music controls ; plenty of memory ; good camera ; 3G support ; built in Wi-Fi
CONS: Disappointing screen ; iffy Web browser ; no front camera for 3G calling ; overall large in size
VERDICT: Nokia has put the pieces of the puzzle together very well as far as music is concerned: it is easy to store tunes on the phone, there are plenty of supported formats, playback controls are convenient and straightforward, sound quality and volume are ...
BOTTOM LINE: Nokia is taking aim at the iPod and while that might seem like risky business, it's not when that device also converges a mobile phone and PDA features into a very sexy package. Though large and heavy by phone standards, the N91 feels good in hand and ...
BOTTOM LINE: Big and heavy but the features this 3G phone sports are phenomenal.
PROS: 3G phone which packs a 4GB hard drive. It'll function as a stand alone MP3 player with 3.5mm headphone socket and hold switch. Will play DRM tracks too.
CONS: The slide down controls mean the number keys have had to be down-sized. The hefty specs also mean it's a bit on the bulky side and there's no flash on the camera.
BOTTOM LINE: Nano rivalling capacity and a fully loaded phone mean the N91 really does kill two birds with one MP3 playing 3G stone
BOTTOM LINE: The phone's music capabilities are top notch with a massive 8GB hard drive, but as a mobile phone the N91 8GB does include some good features but is let down by a cramped keypad and slow interface.
PROS: Steel body parts ; External music controls on the sliding keypad cover ; 2 megapixel camera ; 4 GB hard disk ; Standard 3.5 mm jack ; Wi-Fi ; 3G networks support ; Symbian 9.1 OS ; Active stand-by mode ; Built-in FM radio ; USB support ; Extremely ...
CONS: OS incompatibility ; Way too many constructional drawbacks for this price range ; Quite big and heavy ; Display is poorer than competitors' displays ; Poor macro mode of the camera ; No Infrared port ; Slower than common mobiles
BOTTOM LINE: 4 GB hard disk • 2 megapixel camera • Symbian 9.1 OS • brilliant music player • Voice recognition • Bluetooth • EDGE • Wi-Fi • 3G compatibility. With all those rich features the phone packs quite a punch, but would it make it to the ...
BOTTOM LINE: Nokia's 4GB N91 music phone has been a long time coming. Is it worth the wait?
BOTTOM LINE: It's not the fabled iPod phone, but we reckon its close enough.
BOTTOM LINE: Nokia equip their new music phone with the same 4gb hard drive found in the Ipod mini and it has a 2 megapixel camera, talk about convergence!
PROS: 8GB hard drive, Dedicated music playback keys, Integrated Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headphone jack, Lots of bundled accessories
CONS: Problems roll-over from the original N91, Bulky, Numerical keys are too small, Expensive
BOTTOM LINE: Nokia has made the N91 black and upped the memory to 8GB, but not much else has changed with this bulky multimedia phone.
PROS: 8GB hard drive ; dedicated music playback keys ; integrated Wi-Fi ; 3.5mm headphone jack ; lots of bundled accessories
CONS: Problems roll-over from the original N91 ; bulky ; numerical keys are too small ; expensive
BOTTOM LINE: If you don't mind small keys and can sacrifice a bit of pocket space, Nokia's N91 8GB has all the bells and whistles.
BOTTOM LINE: Nokia announced a new line-up, going by the name of Nseries in April 2005 â€" these devices we aimed to become the corner stone of the new handsets positioning concept. The company introduced three phones in the context of the first wave - N70, N90 ...
PROS: Spacious 4 GB hard drive; dedicated key lock; nice screen
CONS: Bulky; mediocre out-of-box audio quality; lacks stereo Bluetooth audio
BOTTOM LINE: Sporting a massive 4 GB of storage, support for MP3 and WMA files and a host of other features, the N91 is Nokia's first proper music phone; Jørgen Sundgot takes it for a spin in this picture review.
BOTTOM LINE: After all the hubbub and countless delays surrounding the launch of Nokia's N91 musicphone with 4GB disk, we know what you're thinking... was it worth the hype? Well, Laptop Mag just posted a lukewarm review of the $599 stainless steel handset which ...
PROS: Stainless steel chassis, Huge 4GB hard drive, Superb display, Respectable battery life, Impressive music playback features, Integrated Wi-Fi, 3.5mm headphone jack, Bulky, Numerical keys are too small, Expensive, DRM protected WMA and iTunes files not ...
CONS: Case doesn't hold cabling, Bulky, Numerical keys are too small, Expensive, DRM protected WMA and iTunes files not supported, Video playback quality is somewhat choppy
BOTTOM LINE: The N91 sees Nokia take two steps forward with functionality and one step back in its design efforts, making the phone suitable for feature-mongers but not so attractive to budding fashionistas.
BOTTOM LINE: The Nokia N91 is said to be one of the most attractive phones available and it is used and recommended by a lot of people. The volume levels and the sound clarity of the Nokia N91 are really good. The battery life of the Nokia N91 is around 4 hours ...
PROS: 4GB HDD ; dedicated music keys ; 3G, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth ; FM tuner ; standard ports
CONS: Hardly svelte ; no self-facing camera ; Windows-only software ; gets mucky quickly
BOTTOM LINE: Nokia's latest smartphone is a bit of a powerhouse. Not only does the N91 (around £370 without contract) include a 4GB hard disk drive (HDD) for storing thousands of songs, but it also includes a 2-Megapixel digital camera (supports ...
BOTTOM LINE: Nokia's music phone, the N91, is big in two senses. It has a huge (for a phone) 4GB of internal storage, and physically it's a large beastie. Dealing with the latter characteristic first, dimensions of 113mm ...
PROS: 4 GByte Festplatte, Schnelle Datenübertragung, W-LAN, Wird als externes Laufwerk erkannt
CONS: schwacher Akku, Verarbeitung
BOTTOM LINE: Speichergewaltig und mit einem mächtigen Musik-Player bestückt, macht das Nokia N91 wirklich Spaß. Richtig handlich ist der Edelschieber aber nicht.
