Display and Configuration
The Samsung Galaxy On5 2016 comes with a 5-inch IPS LCD HD (720 x 1,280 pixels) display and has a pixel density of 294ppi. It features a metal body and weighs 143 grams. It measures 142.8 x 69.5 x 8.1mm and is available in three colour variants - black, gold and rose gold. Under the hood, there are two (1.5GHz Cortex A53 + 1.2GHz Cortex A53) quad-core processors aided by 3GB of RAM and Adreno 405 graphics engine. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 MSM8952 chipset manages smooth functioning in the system. The device boots on Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system and fingerprint sensor at the front.
Camera and Battery
In terms of photography, the device sports a 13MP main camera which can record 1,080p videos. You can click the home button twice to capture the moment. Like other smartphones, there is also an 8MP selfie snapper which captures great shots. It packs in palm gesture selfie feature which lets you to click pictures by simply gesturing at the lens with your palm. The device is fuelled by a 2,600mAh li-ion battery which keeps the show running for long hours.
Storage and Connectivity
On the storage ground, the device houses an internal memory of 32GB which can be further expanded upto more 256GB. There are connectivity options namely - dual SIM, 4G (supports Indian bands), 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with A-GPS and microUSB 2.0.
At present, Samsung is trying to bring up fingerprint mobiles in a budget friendly price tag. One can easily say that it is the smartphone competition which made them do so. The Samsung Galaxy On5 2016 is the successor of previous on5 with almost same design. It has non-removable battery which has become very common nowadays. The cameras click very good shots and feature smart gesture. One can shoot full HD videos and enjoy 4G connectivity for long hours. The performance is also great as one can enjoy heavy multitasking, thanks to the powerful combination of processor and RAM. However, a front flash would have been an additional package.
