It’s not like you’re out of options. Here’s one. Another one would be to get a friend’s iPhone 4 and another friend’s Galaxy S, put them on a table, close your eyes and… tell your friends to bugger off. Or you can do it the old-fashioned way. Flip a what? Now seriously, do we need another iPhone vs. insert phone of choice thing? Well, do you need Retina display when it’s more than the human eye can see? Do you need a 4” Super AMOL...

Sure it looks like an iPhone, but on the inside the Galaxy S is a web-browsing, media-playing beast of a smartphone, and one of the best Android phones in Australia today....

Pros: Stunning Super AMOLED display ; Support for DivX and FLAC ; Great online performance

Cons: Cheap-feeling plastic chassis ; iPhone look-alike ; Samsung`s widgets are mostly ugly

Verdict: The Galaxy S could definitely do with a sprinkling of individuality, especially for customers looking for a viable iPhone alternative, not an iPhone look-alike. But its flaws are mostly skin deep, and once you immerse yourself in the class-leading......

The Android smartphone segment keeps getting stronger, and the Samsung Galaxy S looks set to be a key player in 2010. Not only does it get the company’s coveted Super AMOLED display, but a 1GHz processor, 720p HD video recording and plenty of wireless connectivity. Now freshly announced as incoming to Verizon as the Fascinate, T-Mobile USA as the Vibrant and of course AT&T as the Captivate, the Galaxy S is certainly spreading itself aro...

One of our favorite Android phones just got a major speed boost. The Samsung Galaxy S 4G for T-Mobile is a lot like the Vibrant we reviewed in July, but it adds 4G connectivity, promising "theoretical" peak download speeds of 21 Mbps. This sequel also sports a front-facing camera for video chats, a beefier battery, and lots of entertainment goodies--including a full copy of the flick Inception. Still, $199 isn`t exactly cheap when you can pick up...

Pros: Fastest data speeds for T-Mobile; Good battery life; Gorgeous Super AMOLED Display; High-quality 720p camcorder; Lots of entertainment apps included

Cons: Annoying lock screen; Some lag at times; No camera flash or HDMI

Verdict: A speedy data connection and lots of entertainment options make this Android phone an excellent choice for T-Mobile customers....

Phones with a keyboard are becoming a bit of an endangered species, but those who prefer physical buttons over virtual squares can take solace in the Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G, an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich handset that runs on T-Mobile`s HSPA+ 42......

Pros: The Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G has Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a generous QWERTY keyboard, a good 5-megapixel camera, and some of the best call quality I`ve heard on a cell phone.

Cons: While roomy, the Galaxy S Relay 4G`s keyboard will feel stiff for some, and the phone is on the bulky side.

Verdict: Those looking for a QWERTY smartphone will gravitate to the thick and hearty Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G, which has Android 4.0, strong hardware specs, and excellent call quality....
