    | engadget

    Left without a platform to champion, Sony Ericsson would ultimately continue supporting Symbian through its involvement with the Symbian Foundation and phones like the Satio and Vivaz... and it would ramp up support for Windows Mobile with the Xperia X1 and X2... and it would bring Android into the fold with the X10, all within a few months of each other. All told, Sony Ericsson enters 2010 actively supporting three unrelated smartphone platforms...

    Pros: Huge display; Comfortable to hold; Good camera;

    Cons: Runs Android 1.6, no upgrade for a while; Lots of plastic; Custom UI is an acquired taste;

  • Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 (Android 2.1) review: Eclairs for dinner
    GSMArena team
    15 Nov 2010 | gsmarena

    With a large high-res screen, a Snapdragon CPU and ample amount of RAM the XPERIA X10 is nothing short of the top-end Android smartphones currently on the market. However its outdated Android version was holding it back and it found it hard to compete in the top tier. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 (aka X3 or Rachael), expected to have an 8-megapixel camera, HSPA, a huge touchscreen and Qualcomm`s 1GHz Snapdragon processor behind the scenes....

    Verdict: Generally, most reviews on this device complain about the funny way that the OS behaves, or rather does not behave, which is to say that it does not behave in the way that it is supposed to. It would be safe to say that this phone will take some......

    Jerry Hildenbrand
    27 Sep 2010 | androidcentral

    The Xperia X10 is a continuation of every smartphone aficionado`s love-hate affair with Sony Ericsson.  It`s a combo of exceptional hardware and build quality, with poorly implemented software that is taking far too long to get updated.  By the latest standards, it`s no powerhouse, but the specs are still good and were top of the line when we first saw it at CES in January 2010.  But the software.  Oh the software -- especiall...

    26 Mar 2010 | slashgear

    If it feels like it’s a long time since we first saw the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10, that’s because it really has been. First announced back in November 2009, and only now approaching the market, the X10 runs the risk – like other Sony Ericsson smartphones, it has to be said – of making promises that prove underwhelming by the time it delivers on them. With handsets like the Nexus One already on the market, is there still a ...
