Overall: Ordered on 6/9/2013 at 11:45. Got it delivered on the 8/9/2013 at 5:00 pm in Mumbai.
(Vendor is in Mumbai). I have heard Banglore customers get it the same day.
Since then (today is 11/09/2013 9:30am) it refuses to install Windows 2000, 2003, 2008, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Ubuntu. 9th was a Ganesh Chathurti holiday, still could speak to some of their support guys on toll free number. But most of them are terribly below standard (even Indian standard). One of the guys got the issue and had a few advices but the phone got disconnected. Gave subsequent calls but no other support guy had a sensible approach.
Error message: "Windows cannot install to this disk. Please ensure that disk's controller is enabled".
Tried all possible controller and BIOS fixes. Finally appears to be BIOS issue. Mine C850 came with 6.30 while the downloadable version is 6.70. Cannot flash the BIOS since Toshiba relies on Windows for updating its BIOS, it does not recommend updating BIOS through DOS, ridiculous but true. Flashing BIOS through USB on my own is not what I find wise at this point of time. Yesterday (10/09/2013) most of the Toshiba service centres were closed due to Ganesh Chathurti (even though no other office is closed). Redington (one of the support offices) was functional and spoke to them and their engineer is likely to visit today.
But I am myself taking it to them before 11:00 am (after which all the support engineers are on field and supposedly there is no in-house engineer at the support centre, ridiculous but true).
So far it has been a very bad experience. I should leave now before it gets late.
Will update the review once i return from their service centre.

Frenz, My HDD was faulty and got it replaced. Installed windows 7 and things are working fine. No issues with Drivers etc..
Now, my experience about Service:
I reached Redington, Mumbai at 11:30am and all engineers were just about to leave for filed assignments. Was catered by a engineer. He was a bit less aware about the product. I took a demanding stand and insisted to accompany him inside his workplace instead of sitting in the waiting area, which was let down by the seniors, but then the engineer was directed to bring the product outside instead and diagnosed in front of me.
There were two counters one for Fujitsu (was misspelled by them as "Fujistu").
The senior engineer later came out and himself daignosed the product and on seeing the late response, concluded that it was HDD fault and asked his junior to replace it.
I got the HDD, but be cautioned that I was very very very very lucky to get it right then and there itself, generally for parts people have to wait for at least 7 days (input by engineers themselves). It took 45 minutes for me to leave the service center during which i could get the engineers' review.
As per the engineers only select models of Toshiba are good and this model has problems in Lid hinges and keyboard. While i waited I saw three customers arriving, one was the white variant of C850. It had loose keyboard keys and I could get an idea as to what should be avoided while using this model.
Fujitsu is a good brand as per the engineers it seldom faces any problem. But once it faces a problem the part takes time to reach from Germany/Japan. Second thing, till Fujitsu is under warranty, its good, that means if some goes bad in a Fujitsu laptop, it gets replaced and we get a warranty on the replaced part. But once the warranty expires and suppose motherboard goes bad the thing will be replaced with original mother board but then there will be no warranty on that replaced motherboard.
This was straight from the Engineer's mouth.
My take on this product so far is that I was unlucky, or such problems is not evident on a new Toshiba.
But a point to be noted here is that, while returning I forgot my adapter/charger over there and realized it only after I reached home. I got a call from them proactively and then they were willing to get it delivered at my place the next day. But then later I insisted and they agreed to sent it along an engineer who had a call to attend close to my area. So i got it the very same day within 3 hours.
So product service on phone is pathetic beyond doubt, however over the counter at the service center, it is not that bad however we have to be self-aware and demanding while visiting the service center.
