Display and Configuration
The TP-LINK Neffos X1 comes with a dual-curved metallic back cover and extremely narrow edges up to only 2.75mm. It has a slim body of 7mm (0.6mm ultra-slim chamfer) and looks very stylish. One can watch videos and play games in the 5-inch IPS LCD HD (720 x 1,280 pixels) display. For operating the system, there is are two quad-core processors -1.8GHz Cortex A53 + 1GHz Cortex A53 coupled with 3GB of RAM and Mali-T860 MP2 graphics engine. The device measures 142 x 71 x 7.9mm, boots on Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system and is available in two colours - gold and grey.
Camera and Storage
As far as photography is concerned, the device is stacked with a 13MP main camera (dual LED flash) inclusive of phase detection autofocus. For selfie lovers, there is a 5MP front shooter which captures impressive shots, especially during daylight. In order to store data, the device houses an internal memory of 32GB. For further expansion, the storage capacity can be increased upto a massive 128GB using a microSD card.
Battery and Connectivity
The device is fuelled by a 2,250mAh li-polymer battery which claims to charge upto 50% in just 30 minutes. For networking and sharing, the device offers a wide range of options such as dual SIM, 4G (doesn't support Indian bands), 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS with A-GPS, Glonass and microUSB 2.0.
The TP-LINK company after getting huge success in Wi-Fi routers are rolling out to focus upon smartphones. The TP-LINK Neffos X1 has great looks, slim body and is a very good choice for gamers. The snappers also click impressive shots but one can at least expect a FULL HD display by paying such a hefty amount. On the other hand, even a little more battery backup was preferable as there lot of other competitors with robust configuration around this budget.
