First VAIO smartphone
Display and Design
The VAIO Phone (VA-10J) carries a 5-inch IPS LCD multi-touch display with a resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels (HD) leading to a pixel density of 294ppi. Despite being so big, it has a waistline of 7.9mmm and a weight of 130g.
Processor and OS
Acting as the brains of the VAIO Phone (VA-10J) is a 1.2GHz quad-core processor based on Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset. It is paired with a 2GB RAM and Adreno 306 GPU so that you don't face any kind of problem even while dealing with powerful applications. It runs on latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS out of the box.
Camera and Storage
At the back of the VAIO Phone (VA-10J), you can find a 13MP autofocus camera and LED flash which can be used for recording full HD videos at 30fps. It is accompanied by a 5MP front facing snapper which can be used for capturing quality selfies. It is equipped with an internal memory of 16GB which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD slot.
Battery and Communication
Keeping the VAIO Phone (VA-10J) juiced up for a decent period of time without any interruption is a 2,500mAh Li-ion battery which is non user removable. Moving to the connectivity and networking section, it gets options like 4G (limited zones), 3G, Wi-Fi 5GHz, Bluetooth v4.0, USB port and GPS.
The VAIO Phone (VA-10J) represents the company's interest in venturing into the world of smartphones ever since its split from Sony. However, instead of going for a premiere device, it has decided to stick with a mid range one which offers smartly crafted features. However, considering the competition, the device seems overpriced for the Indian market.
