Display and Configuration
The Vivo Xplay 5 is stylishly designed with a full metal chassis. It has a curved 5.43-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 1, 440 x 2560 pixels with a density of 541ppi. The Xplay 5 houses a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor with an Adreno 510 for the graphics. It has an additional support of 4 GB RAM for the OS Funtouch 2.5.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The Gorilla glass provides added screen protection from unwanted marks and scratches.
Camera and Battery
The device has a 16MP Sony IMX rear camera with Phase Detection, Autofocus and a dual LED flash, the camera also boasts of f/2.0 aperture and other features such as Geo- tagging, Touch focus, Face detection, Panorama and HDR. The front camera for selfies is of 8MP with an aperture of f/2.4 and both the cameras are capable of full HD video recording.
The Xplay 5 is backed by a powerful 3,600mAh battery with dual engine and supports fast charging. It also has an innovative cooling system designed which uses a special gel to reduce the core temperature up to 10 degrees.
Storage and Connectivity
The smartphone comes packed with an internal memory of 128GB which is non-expandable in nature. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi direct, Bluetooth 4.0 and A-GPS to share and connect with other compatible devices. It is a dual SIM device supporting both 3G and 4G. For the security of your personal data, you can rely on the robust fingerprint scanner.
The Xplay 5 offers split screen multitasking which allows users to open two apps on the same screen, hence switching back and forth does not remain a necessity. The presence of Hi-Fi 3.0 sound system with dual speakers enhances the audio experience.
The Vivo's Xplay 5 succeeds in impressing us with strong specs and metallic design. It has all the attributes to compete with the best in its budget. Having said that, the price is on a higher side for a non-branded device.
