Design and Display
The Xiaomi Redmi 4 has a 5-inch IPS LCD display with Gorilla Glass coating on the top. The screen has full HD resolution (1,080 x 1,920 pixels) resulting in a huge pixel density of 441ppi. The device has a unibody design with metallic finish.
Platform and Performance
The smartphone comes with Android v6.0.1 (Marshmallow) OS with MIUI 8 out of the box. Beneath the metal clad body, the handset boasts of pretty powerful performance features which include a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, clubbed with a mammoth 3GB RAM and a powerful Adreno 506 GPU. As such, the device looks well equipped to handle heavy multitasking, high end gaming or other form of intensive usage.
Camera and Storage
The handset sports a 13MP main camera with phase detection autofocus and LED flash. The camera can capture images of 4,128 x 3,096 pixels resolution and can record full HD videos at 30fps. It is accompanied by a 5MP front facing camera, for selfies and video calls. The device has 32GB of inbuilt storage and can also support microSD card of up to 128GB on its Hybrid SIM slot.
Connectivity and Storage
The smartphone offers wide range of latest connectivity features which are 4G, dual band Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with A-GPS, Glonass, NFC and USB Type C. Coming to sensors, the device has fingerprint sensor stationed on the back, along with usual bunch of sensors inside which are light, proximity, accelerometer, compass and gyroscope. The smartphone is powered by mammoth 4,100mAh li-polymer battery, which is non removable.
