Display and Configuration
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro flaunts a 5.5-inch OLED Full HD (1,080 x 1,920 pixels) display and features a pixel density of 401ppi. It is wrapped in a fully metal chassis and is available in three colour variants namely - gold, dark grey and silver. For running the system, there are three processors, dual-core 2.1GHz Cortex A72, quad-core 2GHz Cortex A53 and quad-core 1.4 GHz Cortex A53. They are coupled with 3GB of RAM, Mali-T880 MP4 graphics engine and are seated upon MediaTek MT6797 chipset. The handset comes with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home key and boots on Android v6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system.
Camera and Storage
For clicking pictures, the handset is armed with dual cameras (13MP + 5MP) at the back which claims to shoot SLR quality pictures. One can record 1,080p (30fps) videos and 720p slow motion videos. For selfie admirers, there is a 5MP (2.0F aperture) camera in the front with wide angle feature. On the storage ground, the device houses an internal memory of 32GB which can be further expanded upto 128GB using a microSD card.
Battery and Connectivity
The device sips its juice from a 4,050mAh li-polymer battery which can run upto two days in normal usage. In terms of connectivity, the device offers options such as dual SIM, 4G (supports Indian bands), VOLTE support, 3G, 2G, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS with A-GPS, Glonass and with A-GPS, Glonass and USB Type C.
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is a great handset which packs in a lot of features. It has dual cameras which arrange better depth-of-field pics and refocus the image after you have taken the shot. The superior RAM renders outstanding performance and even the battery backup of the phone is very good. Coming to display, the OLED super black super bright screen, is results marvellous visualisation, be it gaming or watching videos. If hybrid SIM is not an issue, then this phone is very worthy to opt out.
