The dual screen Android smartphone
A phone with a bright vibrant HD display and a paper like display to read ebooks seems like a concept but the Russian phone maker Yota has done just that. The amazing phone sports a 4.3 inch 720p HD display on the front and a 4 inch battery saving E-INK display akin to the Amazon kindle on the rear. The idea is when battery gets low instead of using the power sapping HD display, the phone can switch to the rear display and it is also quite convenient for night time reading.
Configuration and camera
The device comes with a 1.7 GHz Krait dual core processor by Qualcomm augmented with 2GB of RAM. Under the hood it is powered by Android 4.2 Jellybean and is expected to get the Kitkat update too.
The camera at 12 MP is very good and is capable of clicking high resolution pictures of 4000x3000 pixels. The front facing camera with 1.3 MP is no slouch and is capable of HD video calling over the 4G network
Storage and Battery
Some concept phones never make it to the market and just scintillate us, but Yota has come ahead and come out with a brilliant looking phone with a wonderful concept. The hardware looks to be packed and all there is left to be seen is whether Yota can overcome competition giants like Samsung and other Android makers.
Yota’s YotaPhone runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS and incorporates 4.3-inch LCD touchscreen display with 1280 x 800 pixel HD native resolution, a 1.5 GHz processor, and 2GB RAM. Other features include 32GB of internal storage, a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, a front-facing camera, NFC technology, as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity options....
Pros: Features and Ideas
Cons: Should be released with KitKat as OS
Overall: As mentioned above, this phone should be release with KitKat OS. Jelly Bean is here since long now.
