An entry level smartphone from ZTE
Display and Design
The ZTE Source comes with a 4.5-inch LCD display which has the resolution of 480 x 854 Pixels and a pixel density of 218 ppi, which is quite good for an entry level smartphone. It comes in black colour, weighs 156 grams which is quite light and has a waistline of 10mm. Due to its compact dimensions this phone is great for one handed operations.
The ZTE Source comes with dual-core Krait 200 Processor clocked at 1.2GHz and it sits on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset. This phone is supported by 1GB RAM and Adreno 305 GPU for seamless performance. It is powered by rather dated Android v4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).
Camera and Storage
The ZTE Source is packed with a 5MP main shooter which has autofocus, Back-illuminated Sensor, LED flash and HD video recording. The front camera is a 1.2MP shooter. The internal memory is 4GB, which is standard for most of the phones in this segment and it can be further increased upto 32GB with the help of a MicroSD card.
Battery and Connectivity
A 2,070 mAh Li-ion battery provides necessary power to the phone. ZTE claims that this phone has a talk time upto 15 hours over 2G and a massive standby time of upto 10 days. It is a CDMA handset with an array of connectivity options like 3G (EV-DO), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, USB connectivity, DLNA and OTA sync. Although this phone supports 4G LTE but Indian bands are not supported.
The ZTE Source has decent specification and great battery life in very low budget. This phone even has 4G although the Indian bands are not supported and that's the only bummer. Though this should not be a deal breaker. So if you are looking for a smartphone in this low budget segment then you can take a look at this one.
