Ordered this on 20th and Flipkart deliveredit the next day, one day before expected delivery date.nnHave been using it for the last 3 days and must say its worth the purchase. At this price range, this is the best. Although 3 days of usage isnt much to completely gauge this device, but the first impression is of a device gud on paper as well as practical.nn I was initially planning to buy the Lenovo S8 but decided against it due to the poor feedback on baterry life. I think the only difference between the Lenovo S8 and Fonepad8 is the screen resolution. But the fonepad screen is not bad, though its not full HD, still the screen is bright, pictures are sharp and it has auto brightness which the s8 lacks. Screen is very responsive with 10 finger multitouch and with some kind of coating which makes the screen very smooth and resists finger prints.nnWith 1.33 quad core processor and 2 GB Ram, wifi & 3g, 16GB storage, expandible via SD card and dual standby SIM, this phablet/tablet is a bargain. Games like Dead Trigger, Real Racing places flawlessly. The version launched in India is the one with betterspecs, other countries got the lower version with 8gb/1gb specs.nnZen UI feels gud but personally i dont like it. Am going to change to a different launcher.nnAntutu benchmark is above 30k and Nenamark scored 60fps. Quandrant put this at the top of the list but i doubt if its really true.nnBattery seems to be ok. I charged the tab full batterythe whole night, and it lasted me more than 1 and half day until I charged it again with still some juice left. I played some games, put the wifi on alltime, emails, facebook, watsapp sync on and mostly playing youtube videos.nnThough it comes with some cons. The cameras arent that gud. It just has 5Mp primary camera and 2mp front. Pictures are nothing to speak about. And no LED flash. But i can still live with the cameras and the missing leds as i wont b taking much pictures with this tab.nnHeadfones are missing, since this being a calling phablet/tablet, a gud set of headfones would have been a nice include.nnNo accessories available yet. No flip cover, no screenguard available anywhere. I checked the asus website and there are no accessories listed for the fonepad8. And Neither does flipkart. I even checked an Asus exclusive showroom, and they dont even have the tablet, forget bout accessories. Maybe since this is a new launch in india, hope accessories will be available.nnAdvice to anyone who has bought thisdevice, ensure to upgrade all the asus apps soon after the first boot. I got 2 system upgrades and quite a lot of app upgrades and it looks like the upgrades makes the device finer.

Hi all,nnWhen I started looking out for tablets, there were two conditions. Good screen resolution & Voice call with 3g. That is because, my purpose is for reading (magazines & articles - no, not studies) & occassional games. After detailed reviews for 2 months, I finally filtered on Lenovo S8 or Asus fonepad 8. I realized that price of S8 never came down (other than during 2 offer sale days). This hurt my ego. So I bought Asus fonepad 8 for 13999/-. (The next day flipkart had an offer, selling at Rs.12,600. So guys, look out for offers before you click on 'buy')nnI feel you can as well buy one.nnReasons for it:nFront facing speakers are really LOUD & dont get distorted. (Nice to see heads turning :-) )Sound has so many predefined settings like 'gaming mode', 'music mode' etcnnColour setting has many predefined settings to ensure viewing comfort.nMusic app is ample - I never had to download any third party application (TPA).nnGallery has settings like slideshow, mini movie - user has to select pics & tab creates the slideshow & movie.nnOTG facility - for those who dont know, I can connect my 1TB HDD to this tab :-) Asus doesn’t provide OTG cable.nnOn a full charge, tab can stand for a whole day. Charger that comes with the tab does a full charge in flat 2 hours.nn2GB of RAM - I am able to play high power games like hitman sniper & asphalt airborne easily. (Even 'task manager' & 'auto-start apps' comes packed)nn16GB internal memory. I have an SD card of 8GB which makes the total size to 24GB & occasionally I even connect the 1TB HDD. Hahaha (in a wicked tone!!)nnUnlike some tabs, not much TPA is required. You just buy the tab and start enjoying Asus advantage of android. Of course, play store is available right from start.nnOther Asus features like 'what’s next', 'super note', 'party link' & 'play to' are really innovative. Added features like 'auto call record', 'data transfer' are really nice. nOn the whole, users will forget going to play store.nnTab is really thin & light. The rear side has a rugged feel. Although, the tab is thin, screen feels sturdy and handles strong pokes.nnIn spite of extended hours of gaming, Youtube watching & whatsapp yapping, device battery lasted a day & never got heated.nnFile manager is amazing & works like a file explorer. Drag & drop from removable devices to internal or vice versa, is so simple.nnOn my first boot only I received an OTA update of Android lollipop. Based on the few minutes I got to use the tab in Android 4.4, I strongly feel that the device has got faster.nnReasons against it:nNo FM RadionNo Flash (Reader must be thinking, "yeah yeah, why dont you write 'no mixie, no grinder'?". Let me tell you, Lenovo S8 does have flash)nnMessaging app is the most basic I have seen. In the age of spam that we live in (I get at least 10 unnecessary messages), deleting/ blocking messages takes effort. Considering the expectation they have set themselves, Asus must have got a better app.nnCamera interface (both back & front) have lot of nice settings - but the camera itself fails poorly. Sometimes shots taken using selfie camera, with zoom setting at ‘0’, shows only half my face. (that is more because of the distance we are able to hold the 8 inch tab at).nnVideos taken in back camera sometimes shows jumpy vertical lines.nnGetting accessories like cover, quality screen guard is a challenge. Honestly, there aren’t many choices. Some were costly & some had users complaining about quality.nnAlthough it has 2 sim card trays, considering the screen size, it will not be suited as your primary phone. So get a reliable primary phone - nokia 1100 types.nnOther relevant points:nWhen you switch apps/ switch it on, for initial few seconds user can notice colors showing bland or washed out. That is because, the screen is adjusting as per what is displayed at that moment. For a few days, I felt my device was a faulty piece.nnThe on/off switches are too protruding. So, sometimes when tab bumps against objects, it leads to hard-reset the tab.nnNot possible to add music widget to the lock screen. Thus, to change song, user needs to unlock tab.nnAll in all, I strongly feel happy about owning the tab. Seeing the screen size & high resolution, some friends have been commenting that it is an LED TV in a tab (Remember Onida's catch phrase?. So, I don't care)nBtw, If you can wait for few more days, pls do, at least for Zenpad. As on review date, Zenpad 7.0 & 8.0 have been launched in India in same price bracket & comes with additional features like ‘5.1 channel audio cover’ & ‘battery cover’. Might be, if you wait, price of the same fonepad 8 could be reduced.nnAnyways, all the best in your tablet hunt. Hope this usage review helped you in some manner.

I am finding it really good. all the features. nnGuys whoever buying this, do the update of all the ASUS softwares and APP's, it's really a cool design. Hope u'll love it.nnFor travelers, book readers it is a best buy.nnThe performance with 3G and WiFi is really awesome. Quite fast browsing.nnNo one can give any better than this for this price. nnI am testing the battery with high usage, will update about the Battery after a week.

Bought this product after 2 months of in depth research. Wanted a calling tablet with all the features available as much as possible.Very Satisfied with the product after using it for almost a month now.n- Touch response is very good. UI is very responsive.n- Looks (Black one) is awesome due to is matt finished back cover.n- Slight heavy to hold single handedly for too long.n- Internet surfing is pretty smooth.n- Resolution is quite impressive.n- Call reception is good, sometimes difficult to hear in noisy environment but overall good. Received calls on both the sim at different times without any issue.n- Sound quality very good. As it has dual front facing speakers it is easy to hear the sound even when it is rested on a table.n- Picture quality is not good in low light. Do not have a flash which is a disadvantage.n- 2 GB RAM so gaming is also quite smooth and live streaming of videos HD quality is a delight to watch.n- Storage capacity is sufficient and can be extended too with external memory chip.n- Doesn't heat up even after 5-6 hrs of continuous surfing.n- Daylight pictures comes good but still not as 5mp camera would shoot.n- Too many pre-loaded applications which cannot be removed I believe. Didn't try though.nnWould have been a perfect one had there been a LED flash, but its difficult to have everything in less than 15K.nnDelivery from Flipkart was also flawless.
