Good Phone Competitive features

I was a bit hesitant about the phone initially since one does not see a lot of Dell phones out in the open these days. However, the main reasons I went in for the Dell Venue were: na) Large screen size (4.1 inches)nb) Good screen resolution (480x800 Pixels)nc) AMOLED screennd) Gorilla glass displayne) 1GHz Processornf) 8 MP cameran For the price I paid for this phone, I think it is an amazing deal since other phones with most similar features cost you a lot more. For example the Sony Ericsson Xperia neo V costs about Rs.17,400 but you get only a 3.7 inch TFT screen and a 5MP camera. The Samsung Galaxy S LCD costing about Rs.18,000 has a 4 inch LCD screen and a 5 MP camrea. Both have the same screen resolution and processor speed as the Venue. nnSome of the drawbacks of the phone are:n1) Battery life is not that great even though it uses a 1400 mAh Li-Ion batteryn2) Capacitive buttons on the bottom of the screen (back, menu and home) are not always backlit when certain applications/games are in use. This is a bit irritating while using the phone in the dark and I had to grope about a couple of times before I hit the right spot/keyn3) No secondary cameran4) Rear textured panel could have done well if the textures were more pronouncedn5) For me as a left hander, the power button is very conveniently placed on the upper right corner. However right handed users could possibly find its location a bit of a problem n6) The data cable which doubles as the charging cord when plugged into the adapter is too short for comfort.

A Big Joke...!!

I wonder why Dell came up with such a product at such a price.....its hilarious....do we indians look like fools to you. Flipkart should actually scrap this product out of the list, even they are aware that this product is a failure in the market. I have used a dell smart phone before and their after sales service is below par.

A Steal Deal for 15 grands

As the title goes this is the best hardware you can buy at this price range..nnIf you are looking for alternatives other than Android like Windows 7.5 Mango then just go with Samsung Omnia W, its got some amazing hardware in it!nnComing to this phone will try to list some basic pro's and con'snnPro'sn-- Just read out the specs in the spec sheet thats should be enough to make you drool about the hardware... 1Ghz processor, 8 MP LED flash cam, 4.1" Touch ,.. just to name a few.n-- Gorilla glass n-- AMOLED display results in smooth and crisp displayn-- 16GB microSD cardn-- Extremely smooth UI no glitches and hiccupsn-- Camera button, Volume rocker button(which is common) and a switch to put the mobile in vibration mode and general mode(like in iPhone)n-- 1 year Replacement Warranty which is a big plusnnCons:n-- Android v2.2 should be 2.3n-- No front facing camn-- The display off button(power on/off button) is a bit on a far side, difficult to reach if you are holding the handset in one hand and button is small toon-- Ergonomics is poor, not comfortable when sitting in your handn-- Battery, backup is not that great just averagen-- No waterproofing like in MotoDefy nnnIf you want an Android based smartphone in a budget of 15k then this is it! look no further....nnIf you want a smartphone based on Windows Mango and in the same price bracket then just go with Samsung Omnia W, it features some amazing hardware.nnMake your deal!

Dell Venue Problem

This is my personnel experience with Dell Venue. Dell Customer service is really very very very bad. In fact, no support. First piece which I received never switched on. So replaced the piece with another piece, that piece display went off suddenly. I am not a Mobile illiterate. Using various Mobile phones since 2003. Presently using i phone 4. I planned to buy this Mobile as it had 8 MP Camera, as even its next version Dell Streak has only 5 MP Camera. Planned never to buy any Dell Product, as customer support was nil. Never expected this from a reputed company.nnHaneydict

please dont buy it,

this phone is out dated, this was launched 2-3 years back and even then it was a flop, i guess they are just trying to dump the unsold peaces in india. YOU GET BETTER PHONE 5K WITH SAME FEATURES.
