htc not learning any lesson??

this i a good item until i heard about its price, i was expecting price range of 15k - 17k, because sony xperia m and galaxy core have the same specs with price range of 13k. its well known that htc tend to priced their product a tad high than other company but 20k is not what i expect, at all. if price is reduced to around 16k, i will still choose over xperia m or galaxy core, but i am not gonna buy desire 500 for 20k, not worth the price. if you are ready to shell out 21k, then consider lumia 820, xperia sp, xperia v, xperia c, galaxy grand, galaxy mega. if money is not an issue for me, than i would def buy this or wait for desrie 601 to be released, around 5k more than desire 500. ncomeon htc, when will i ever gonna get one of your smartphone?? i have been following this smartphone for a month and the pricing of the product dissapoints me. good luck though, u gonna need it,

SATISFYING to the core! GO FOR IT!

( *Edited after actually buying the phone =D )nnTired of seeing reviews comparing HTC phones to other companies's devices solely based on the specification on its cover. HTC might not provide the greatest spec in the given price range, but the hands on user experience, that's an entirely different story!nnBought it few months back from a local retailer. Awesome phone indeed! The first thing you'd notice when you hold this phone is its weight. This has to be the LIGHTEST phone in its category. Then the UI, Sense 5 _/\_ . Smooth, minimalistic and makes you wonder whether it actually is an android phone. Battery backup was a tad disappointing to start with. But it seems better now. Easily lasts a day with moderate usage. And this probably is among the last set of phones with Beats Audio. nWould I recommend it? I definitely would if you're not a hard core gamer. For the moderate user, this won't disappoint you!nn ( for the reviewers :If you can't judge a book by its cover, don't judge an HTC by its spec.)

Overpriced! Decent phone but there are better options.

My review:nnPros:n1. Camera : 8MP camera is definitely one of the better ones in this range. The camera is better than Sony phones but not sure how it fares against Samsung ones.nn2. Sense UI: This phone comes with the latest Sense 5 UI that is quite a joy to use.nn3. Decent build quality and a stylish design. nn4. Polaris Office app : Comes with a full version of the Office Suite app which lets you view and edit Office documents. Even some flagships don't come pre-installed with such an app(full version).nnCons:n1. Performance: The Snapdragon 200 quad core processor may sound impressive on paper but the four cores are of the older Cortex-A5 variety and the performance is not as good as even some newer dual core phones like Xperia L or SP. nn2. Gaming: It's not mentioned in the specifications on this page but the GPU is Adreno 203 which pretty low end. This is inexcusable when even Xperia M at 13K and L at 15.5K have faster GPUs like Adreno 305.nGamers stay away. You can get a phone with the beastly Adreno 320 at this price(Xperia SP).nn3. Screen : 4.3" display with 800 x 480 resolution(WVGA) at around 217 ppi. Xperia SP gives an HD screen at 720p resolution at the same price though it has be said the viewing angles are better than Sony phones.nnIf you compare this phone with the SP, only things better in this phone are better camera(arguably), better viewing angles, better Sense UI although this is subjective and a removable battery(battery in SP is non removable but of much higher capacity). However, the performance difference between this phone and SP is HUGE.nnIt's still better than Quattro but not worth the extra 5K.nnConclusion: Would have been a decent phone at 5K less but at 20.5K it is roundly trounced by Sony phones like Xperia SP and C. Get this phone only if you are a fan of HTC phones.

The phone exudes 'Premium Quality' top to bottom

I saw this phone being sold in India sometime in last month and was under clear impression that HTC has gone insane with the pricing. nnHowever when the day arrived when I had to purchase a phone for myself and had a budget of 20K only, I end up buying this one. nnI purchased it outside Flipkart for 21,500. However recommend purchasing it from Fipkart since you could save more than 1K.nnI walked in to a retail shop with following phones shortlisted:n1. Sony Xperia Cn2. Samsung Galaxy Grand Duosn3. Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattron4. Sony Xperia L.nnAnd to my surprise, none of the above could win my heart even at first glance but after handling them for 3 hours.nSony's have a display which has to be viewed from certain angles only as well as the UI's looked horrible to use.nSamsung's were good in all terms but master of none. Also the quality of plastics used was a serious concern,n(These are my opinions and no offence to either any of these brands).nnThen the salesperson offered me to see HTC desire 500, and Whoa !nnThe moment I held the phone in my hand, only one word came into my mind : QUALITY !nnThe phone feels very premium, lightweight to hold as well as tops in the design department. Will try to list out the pro's and con's here:nnPro's:nn-Sleek Design n-Premium Build Qualityn-HTC Sense 5 UIn-Bright 4.3 display with no buttons on it (this makes it true 4.3 unlike Sony Xperia L)n-Beats Audion-Strong Battery Life (Usually lasts for more than 48 hours)n-Low light capture of 8MP cameran-1.6 MP front camera unlike VGA's of Sonyn-Excellent performance derived out of the hardware provided, no lags at all.n-Supports USB on the Go (UTG)n-Can move apps to SD card without rooting the device.nnCon's:n-No Gorilla glassn-Screen resolution is WVGA only (Not even qHD)n-Glossy back panel is prone to make your hand slip.n-Internal Memory is 4GB only.n-Actual RAM is 768MB only (HTC mentions it as 1GB).nnConclusion:nIf you belong to a class where you want something exclusive in your hand, then don't go for on paper specs of this phone. It is just a perfect choice for quality conscious people.
