A tad too expensive but best in the league

For the available phones for CDMA, there is no competition for this phone. I bought this for my wife from Amazon.in for 18K.nnSome really good things about it are:n1. Smart (est?) phone on CDMAn2. Great screen qualityn3. Duel SIMn4. Audio is amazingn5. Looks very goodn6. So far its working very fastn7. Very lightweightnnHere are what I think downsides:n1. 18K is not justified. 12-13 would have been a steal. 15 would have given me some peace of mindn2. No 3G on GSM. Have to rely on Reliance EVDO.n3. Battery life is poor. I installed Juice Defender yesterday. Waiting to see if it makes a difference.n4. Since it's new in the market, no covers are available yet. I had to settle for a bumper. Same with scratch guards.n5. Headphones are very ordinary. For the sound that it can create, the in box headphones are letdown. I am using my spare ear buds from Apple, which are great and are compatible as heat set as well.nnOverall, 3 stars for being a smart phone on CDMA. 2 stars are deducted for price and things mentioned above.

Best for CDMA but OK for GSM

Hi..I am one of the first purchased before it come to the regular market and online as I knew XC supersedes VC. Very good phone with excellent features and all works well but GSM receiver is not as sensitive as regular GSM phones so the signal coverage is poor especially if you are staying ground floor. They may be concentrating on CDMA as the first preference and the second band receiver may be not that sensitive so most time GSM unavailable. Also CDMA system requires only less Transmitter power (20 times less) so the GSM Tx may not be so powerful - Good if you are concerned about the radiation Level hazard as most other makers produce Phones for India with illegal transmission level to compete the market and Norms are not met. Good buy for CDMA users and the best available in CDMA.

Too poor service and support

I have bought my HTC desire V Set( Cost Rs. 13100/- IMEI No. 352795054050595)around 3 months back, was showing lot a of trouble in the touch section from begining of June'13. I have given it to the HTC Service center in Manicktala,Kolkata on 17th June'2013 . I went to collect it on 29th June'2013 but I found no improvement and again a new Job No. was given to me. Again I went to collect it on 6th July'2013 but I was astonished to see that the problem still exist and they said that it needs to sent once more and aagain a new Job No. created . I sent a mail to customer care to replace my set but they convinced that the issue will now be resolved but from then on 2 more job nos are created and today on 5th Aug'13 I went to the service center for the 5th time but still nothing has been done. I have given them an ultimatum to replace it but I don't know what HTC is going to do for my case.... I won't recommend to buy HTC ...Better yous hould go for Samsung...

Problem with HTC CDMA smart phone

I bought HTC desire VC from normal store(not from flippkart).nnSpecs and others are ok but the mobile crashes suddenly, if it happens in a day and it will continue till the battery is drained out. I had given my mobile to service center twice and they took 7 working days each time, (this is so pathetic) even then they couldn't solve it and again they are asking me to give the mobile to service center to solve it. nnI hear the similar problem from the Desire VC customers through various websites. I suggest ppl to rethink before buying the HTC Cdma phone(I bought it as I dont have any other option from other mobile manufacturer for CDMA smart phone) Whenever the issue occurs, that day your mobile tests your patience.nnI feel, even the service ppl doesn't know procees to solve the issue.

We are ready to buy better CDMA Phones.

These phones are overpriced when compared to the GSM Mobiles of higher specs available at Rs. 10,000 onwards. HTC and Samasung has better CDMA Phones all over the world. I wonder why they are not bringing them to India and complaining that Indian buyers are not using CDMA, some of the users still go on with Samsung Galaxy Y and Ace to use their HSD in CDMA Connections which is lower cost than 3G GSM.
