Immediately after I placed the order, I started regretting that maybe it wont be good and I shud hav invested more and bought a samsung tab instead.nBut when I first layed hands on it i was surprised by the build quality and forgot all my apprehensions. My friend has a HCL tablet which is costlier than this but looks way cheaper with crappy construction.nBut this looks solid. Obviously not as good as the high end ones but it has absolutely no moving parts or squeaky buttons.nI coupled it with a 32gb class4 transcend card which is working fine. As soon as I connected it to the wifi it synced all my mails and calendar and I was good to go. Kudos to android 4 for thatnLet me quickly list the pros and consnPros:n1. Preloaded content= awesome. Lets u start experiencing the tab from the very first time u switch it on.n2. No lagging what so ever in hd playback. Din't check bluray yet.n3. Volume output when coupled with my sennheiser babies rocked, though the bundled headphones were pathetic.n4. Skype=working.n5. Touch response = super smooth.n6. Icecream Sandwhich rocks.n7. Detected my wifi without any hiccups.n8. Finally, unbeatable pricing.nnCons:n1. Screen brightness is not so good. Definitely not usable in broad daylight. n2. Resolution : not so good. can definitely see tiny grains.n3. I used tata photon twice. First time it worked for 5 min and hanged. The second time also it hanged. Have to check on that.n4. I tried to read a book, Alice in wonderland, but got headache after 10 min. Maybe its just me.nnFinally, if u don't want to spend upwards of 20k for a tab, but want to get the job done, go for it. U wont regret buying it.nNone of my friends after playing with it cud believe that it cost only 5500.

Amazed to see the tablet is so good for the price. Worth it…… Here is another positive review for this E tab…..nIce-Cream sandwich (ICS) is Delicious………………….. Good packaging unlike Micromax Funbook..which reminds you "YES it’s a Cheap tablet". But not this one..........nFirst I’ll start with something that came to me as surprise…… I connected my 4 GB Kingston DT Pen Drive and the tablet was able to acess all the data and play it as well…….nWANT MORE ???nYou can also use a Ethernet (the one you use at home) to use internet on your tablet but you need to buy a usb to lan cable for that.nDongle Connectivity: I was disappointed after reading the reviews about dongle connectivity issues. But my MTS AC 2766 dongle worked fine with this tab. Though its not listed in the supported dongles list. So yes… its supports all major dongles…Majorly Tata Photon, Reliance & MTS. nThere are very few cons compared to the pros which you can neglect because of the price you are getting for. Right ??nTouch Experience : Super smooth soft, Very sensitive (you don’t need to touch the screen completely) and quite responsive also.nLooks: Looks & Design are Great….the grey colour is awesome….. Quite Slim and sturdy. Build quality is also very good . It does not look like a cheap one. However, the physical keys could have been a bit better.nSound: The in-built speakers are also good. Quite loud. The Ear phones are loud and clear but without bass.nVideo playback: Played all my lapton’s Full HD videos well and without any lag. Supported all major formats including .mkv. Also but not Flv. But can download software for that. So no issues.nNow. Lets talk abot the screen: Low Resolution. So dont expect HD videos to be crystal clear & sharp. But come on, see the price also.nBrightness is ok. You get three selections.nCamera: Is not bad in day light.nBattery back-up: Hmm…. Havent fully tested but battery backup is ok ok(Thik-Thak). This should have been better. And takes time to charge also. One star deducted for this. Stand by time is not bad.nNote: You cannot remove the battery on this one. Because you cant open the back cover. But don’t worry it does not mean , the tablets will get useless after some year. You can get the battery replace from LAVA. The Lava customer care told me so.nThe Tablet is manufactured in China and not India. But that’s cool….Even our Nokia & major mobiles brands , Laptops and a whole lot of electronics are manufactured in China these days….nSome useful Apps that you get out of the box are….nFlash Player, Adobe Reader, Mobile Office, some games like tic tac toe, chess, Sudoku, minesweeper etc. and much more.nThe Pre loaded content is nice because you can test and use your device straight away as soon as you get it. nNow some useful tips & information:n• Only ICS Compatible Tata Docomo Photon Plus Dongles will work on the tab.n• This tab is meant to be used only for 3 G networks and not 2 G. The tablet might hang on 2 G. And if our 3G dongle is working very slow than also the tablet could hang.n• The Tata Photon Plus offer is not Pre Paid. Its Postpaid. And of course available in Select Cities. So check on that.n• If you have purchased the tablet and want the user manual then you can download it from the home page of lava mobiles by clicking on etab link. The web site that lava has mentioned on the warranty card of this tab is not working.nnInitially, I was a bit confused between this one and Swipe 3D tab but on seeing the review I found its good for everything but not 3D. So found E-Tab more suitable. And Lava is not a bad company also.I feel this tablet is the best provided the price is available for. I personally feel its better than its competitors like I Berry,Fun book, Smart tab,zync,zen etc….nThe LAVA E- TAB is the best you can get at the moment out of a Budget Tab without missing out on anyone and some extra features like graphics but without an HDMI output. But you cannot expect everything out of this baby for such a price.. Aur waise bhi kuch pane ke liye kuch to khona padega na dost??nnRecommendation: It does not come with a screen guard or protector.So I would suggest you to order a Screen Guard and a Mo Life Pouch from Flip Kart along with the tab. You can use screen guard for BB Playbook from brands like Rainbow and nCase. It will work on this tab and are not expensive at all. nnThank You for reading my review. okay here are the advantages (based on my experience) the lava tablet 1) excellent capacitive touch screen 2) excellent video output playback 3) smart look and feel 4) 32 gb transcend micro sd works fantastic on it and all applications running well till now 5) good tablet at a cheap price i hope flipkart would make Samsung so cheap lets hope. 6) over all this product is good for those who want to use it for studying(reading books) and traveling purposes. disadvantages 1)there is no screen-guard/protector or cover for this tablet. 2) the touch screen sometimes takes time to respond because if 512 MB ram and the type of application running on the background.if the program is heavy then it takes 5 seconds for the screen to respond sometimes. 3)the battery runs out heavily if you play games even angry birds uses 18% battery for 5 minutes if u play. 4) the device gets heated up very fast. 5) too many ads in the games which is very irritating to use at certain times only when internet is used on WiFi. 6) the offers have hidden costs in them so use it wisely.

I am writing this review after 10 days of rigorous usage of this tab. My overall experience is great both from software and hardware front. nnFlipkart has one the most amazing customer service support. Thanks flipkart!nnPros:nn Android 4.0.3 Ice cream sandwich Operating System(an amazing operating system, Probably the best the tab has to offer!)nn 1.2 GHz single core cortex A8 processor.nn Mali 400 3D and Open GL 2.0 supporting graphics card.n 512 Mb DDR3 RAMnn Super fast responsive screen with flick technology. The screen just zooms past with just a slight touch and many times you need not even physically touch the screen. Very fluid screen. Really impressed!nn Good audio (3.5 mm audio jack): can't compare it with Lava M30 music phone but this tab has some decent music hardware. I connected my Creative EP-630 earphone (one of the best earphones one can get at moderate price), and the music experience was simply superb (though i love Lava M30 mobile phone in the music area)nn 4 GB internal storage: Don't get excited, as around 2 GB is used up inside the phone itself and you have to transfer this part to your external micro SD card. You can install the applications on your phone and move them to your memory card for saving space though.nn Internet usage over the wifi was a breeze! Really good connectivity.nn Supports nearly every audio and video formats: I have played DVD files, AVI files and many other files and this tab simply played it all without any jerks and stops. Just like your laptop this can play without any jerks or slowing down any type of video and audio (I am thinking of editing video files in this tab! Already i have my photo editing and audio editing apps installed and have used it without any problems.)nnnCons:nnScreen not very good for watching movies in broad daylight especially outdoors, but during night times or INDOORS its very neat and bright. You can browse internet use apps and play games outdoors (not under bright sun!), no problems with that.nnTIP: Install a good quality anti glare screen guard for this tab (might cost around 300 INR), go for good quality one, or just buy samsung screen guard for 7 inches and install it on your tab. The screen gives awesome performance. Just look for anti glare, anti reflective and such stuff. Visit any samsung show room.nnNo blue tooth: Though this is not a big issue as you won't be using it much in these type of devices, an addition of bluetooth would have been far useful.nnNo sim slot: Its ok as i have my phone!nnNo standard usb ports. But thankfully they provide a OTG cable through which you can connect your pendrives and dongles to this tab..nnLarger battery could have been provided. But i think this is sufficient for majority of activities. I have watched 2 movies (3 idiots & Toy story back to back and still there was 20 % battery left (it had been fully charged previously). The battery drains when in use with wi-fi. The standby time is satisfactory.I have read books, watched movies, listened to songs, played games, browsed the internet and this tablet offers decent battery, but still a bigger battery could have been provided.nnMy MTS dongle doesn't work with this tab. Though i know its just a technical problem and soon i will find a solution as the operating system is the key here. Need to find drivers or settings. nnNo user manual provided; you can download it from the website of lava though.nnNo screen guard and pouch provided. Solution: buy good quality screen guard (look for anti reflective, anti glare preferably from samsung (it has some good quality screen guards available). Buy a good pouch may cost around 300 INR. Flipkart has some good pouches recommended for this tablet, you can also search ebay just look for lowest bid.nnTIPS:nnBuy good quality anti- reflective, anti glare screen guard (preferably from samsung). Have a good fellow to install it well if you don't know how to do it.nnTIP: Don't keep your mobile phone near the screen of this tab, as if you get a call the screen may flicker and stop working and again you have to restart the tab. This is not a case for only this one but for all the tablets available in the market.nnFor normal usage keep screen brightness at 0 %. Only for watching movies keep it to 50, 60 % or whatever you are comfortable with. Experiment.nnGet a 16 or 32 GB memory card (class 10 preferably) for faster access to files. Though its fast with a 8 GB transcend class 2 micro SD card.nnTIP: Always unmount the memory card before taking it off the tablet. Go to settings>storage>ext SD>Unmount shared storage (unmount the SD card so you can safely remove it)nnMore tips to follow if you want! Good Job! Flipkart, the delivery was well ahead of schedule and its a value for money android tablet.nnIts like a nano for tablets. Let me tell you upfront that I have used an ipad and owned several android phones, but I still wanted a 7 inch tablet with atleast ICS on it and didnt want to spend a bomb on it.nnNow the tab arrived in a basic looking Lava box, very unassuming. But I had read enough comments and reviews and knew what to expect. The device itself is very plasticky, but then for that price what else do you expect. Once you turn it on, you will forget the exteriors, the experience is very fluid without any glitches. I was trying to find a reason to say my ipad was great, but with the prebundled apps, I see no sign of lag. The large bezel looked ugly to start, but it serves a very functional purpose, you can hold without touching any part of the screen.nnI intend to use it as reader on commutes, and it appears practical. I checked out the bundled goodies, but I dont intend to watch 3 hour movies holding it in my hand, it will surely strain my wrist and give me a neck ache. So I didnt fret much about movie quality. All the bundled clips played well, no issues.nnETab has a miniUSB interface, so if you plan on using a 3G dongle be prepared to use the short adapter cable from miniUSB to USB. The dangling cord looks like a tad ugly on a small screen, but who cares check the price and most importantly its probably meant to be used on wifi which is built in.nnLooking forward to install a few apps. But with 512Mb RAM I dont expect to load it with many, I'm sure it will hit the limit soon.nnSummary: I plan on using it mostly for reading on the go, occasional browsing from home wifi, maybe a few apps to access my google drive and listen to some music. So far looks like the it matches my need. For anything beyond this I have other gadgets to keep me happy.
