Amazing processor performance!

Lava Iris 506 is one phone, which runs on a processor that no phone in its price range can ever offer! It has 1.2GHz Quad core processor, which I could not find in any other phone. It has the latest Android Jelly Bean OS, dual cameras, dual sim support, 512MB RAM, 4GB ROM, 32GB possible extension of memory and much more! I never thought that I could afford that kind of package at sub12K price. But thanks to Lava, my dream has today come forth me as a reality! I would definitely suggest anyone who asks me the review for this phone to go ahead and buy it right away!

My patience paid off.

I’ve been longing to buy a phone with gesture motion control; you know the latest improvement to touch technology. Most phones that use this feature are so highly priced, which is why I grabbed the Lava Iris 506Q the moment I discovered it. This feature is super cool. You can browse through your gallery, music albums and other stuff by just waving a hand. The funkiest use of this feature is being able to click pictures. Besides this of course you have the usual bling like the 1.2 GHz quad core processor, 4 GB internal space which is expandable up to 32GB, a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, a 5 inch screen that has a qHD resolution of 540x960 pixels and displays a brilliant 16 million colours and dual sim facility. The camera has many features like panorama etc. It’s totally a one stop shop for all your mobile phone needs.

Doing good so far

No one would disagree with me when I say that one thing that sells the most today is a mobile phone. These small yet useful devices have become an important part of our lives today, so much that one would hardly believe that these actually came into existence just around a couple of decades ago. Against all odds, when I had to buy a new phone for myself, I chose to go with a rather new player on the block, Lava. This was also based upon the research that I ran online among different handsets, and found the ones from Lava to be most reasonably priced.nI have owned Lava Iris 506Q for about a few days now. This dual-sim phone feels no better than the higher priced mobile phones, and at times even gives better performance than most of them. If you too have any plans about buying a phone, here’s a quick review of this beauty from me to help you decide for the right one.nLook and FeelnLava Iris 506Q scores well in this section. It seems to have been designed keeping into mind the generation of today, and anyone, including me cannot just keep eyes off this sheer beauty of a phone, with the curves that would beat every other phone hands down. Its screen size is of 5 inches, and with the inclusion of gesture control feature the fun factor of using this phone goes way highernOS ConfigurationnRunning on 512MB of RAM, this phone has 1.2GHz Quad Core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) OS. Not many phones of today come with a processor like this phone has, which keeps this phone in an elite group of phones, which actually mean business and are super-fast in executing all the tasks, even simultaneously. The phone has 4GB of internal storage, with more than 2GB of it available for use. I also inserted a 16GB memory card into it, though I could use up to 32GB card with this phone.nCameranThis is one let-down as per me. The camera, despite being of 5MP, is not able to give the kind of performance that one would expect from it. Pictures when clicked from close view are better in their quality though. I also have to keep it unmoved to click it clearly. Presence of flash makes the experience a bit better. Its secondary camera is of VGA resolution, so I didn’t have much expectation from it, but surprisingly, it’s good enough for video calling, though yeah, stability factor again comes into picture.nMiscellaneousnAll of the other smartphone features such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, etc. are also there in this phone. The phone also came with a flip cover, which enhanced its look significantly. All in all, just like everything else, there phone has its share of pros and cons, but for me, it’s the best buy and I am pretty sure that I made a wise decision by purchasing it.

It has everything I wanted!

A feature Android phone with almost all the specs of a high end phone at just over 10K! This was an offer that was just too tempting for me to ignore and I bought the phone as soon as it was launched. Here is what I think of it.nDesignnThe Lava Iris 506q looks elegant and refined and when you hold it. It actually feels that way. The most distinctive feature of the phone as to be the asymmetrical design of the top and the bottom ends of the phone. The top is flat and straight while the bottom is curved out a little bit. The front of the device is dominated by the 5 inch TFT qHD capacitive display. The back of the phone has the ‘Lava’ logo at the centre with the camera and LED flash placed at the above it.nHardwarenThe phone may not be that expensive, but the specifications are still top notch. At its heart is the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS that runs the whole show. This is aided by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor and 512 MB of RAM. The Iris 506q comes just 4 GB of internal memory half of which is used by the OS. Thankfully, the phone comes with a microSD card expansion slot that lets the user expand the storage up to a maximum of 32 GB. I use mine with a 16 GB card and it runs that just fine. The phone also has a large 2000mAh battery which helps it last though the day.nEntertainmentnThanks to the Android OS, the phone isn’t lacking when it comes to entertainment. The Google play store has tones of content to satisfy every type of person. The phone also comes with a bunch of pre loaded apps like Opera mini, Whatsapp, MX player, LAVA zone, OLX, Facebook, Fusion Player, Lava Care, Hungama, etc. nThe phone also supports a huge variety of music formats and it even support 720p video.nCameranThe 5 Mp camera shoots great pictures that are really sharp. The LED flash does help light up night shots. The camera also comes with plenty of goodies such as Auto Focus, Face Detection, Panorama Shot, HDR, Multi Angle View, Smile detection. The phone is also capable of taking HD video recording.nVerdictnLava Mobiles have done a fantastic job of taking all the features of a high end smart phone and putting them in a phone that is less than half the cost. It’s a very good buy for anyone.

I love this phone

My husband gave the Lava Iris 506Q to me as a gift a few days back. The functionalities on this phone are really nice especially if you’re addicted to touch screen smart phones. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad core processor and apparently that’s the reason why movies weighing 2 GB also run without any lag. You have a lot of fun applications on the Play Store especially for couture lovers like me, for instance the ‘Fancy’, ‘Snapette – Shopping and Fashion’ and ‘Beautylish: Makeup Beauty Tips’. Clicking photos of my new look is also a new habit of mine thanks to the 5 megapixel rear camera that comes with a flash and the 0.3 megapixel front camera which works when I want a profile shot. The good thing is that the battery on this phone lasts a decent length of time and doesn’t die on me like my last phone always did. All in all, it’s a pretty useful phone.
