Top 10 Drawbacks of Samsung Galaxy S6 S6 Edge

Even though I love & live Samsung, here are some of my major disappointments with the new Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge.nn1.) No MHL 3 / HDMI support(Like Note 4)nMeans you cannot connect your phone with TV THROUGH HDMI PORT and enjoy its content via screen mirroring.nn(Please Note: Wireless Screen Mirroring still works, but MHL is far better especially when you play high frame rate games, where frame drop can make you lose the game, also using Wi-Fi with MHL is not a problem as in case of wireless connection)nSamsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge does NOT have MHL 3 or any MHL at all. It has been erroneously mentioned in SamMobile article (Reasons to upgrade from the Samsung Galaxy S4 to the Galaxy S6 or S6 edge).nn2.) No USB 3 or USB 3.1 & also No USB type CnMany would argue that USB 3 was big and clunky, but Samsung could have provided USB 3 or even faster USB 3.1 with a USB type C connector. It is reversible, faster and can carry MHL 3 for streaming 4K to your TV. Phones with such features have already hit the market.(USB 3.0 was present on Note 3 & S5)nn3.) No IP67, No Dustproofing & No Waterproofing(Was present in Galaxy S5 & Sony phones)nn4.) No user removable battery.nn5.) No MicroSD card slot to expand memory.nn6.) No Glove Mode or way to increase screen touch sensitivity(Was present in all flagship Samsung phone till now)nn7.) No LED Notification indicator menunLED notification indicator is present, but the menu to customise is now absent.nn8.) Smaller Battery than S5.nn9.) Another BIG Drawback / Con is increased length of the phone. Its 143+ mm, while the S4 was very compact in dimensions. S4 was about 136+ mm in length.nnBelieve me, it does make a difference in handling & keeping it in the pocket.nn10.) It is not a durable phone, at-least not as durable as previous flagship phones from Samsung. This is amply clear from various drop tests.nnHope Samsung incorporates these features in the upcoming Note 5 and S7.

too much money

wireless charging pad is provided free with the plain vanilla S6 but not with the more expensive S6 edge. It is as if samsung is saying that those who purchase S6 are fools who have too much money

And.. And.. And.. the beast is back!

Pros:nn1. Best in class display QHD resolution (1440 x 2560 pixels) with 577 ppi pixel which gives you a mind blowing crisp, sharp and colorful display. You tube watching and internet browsing is going to be lot more fun now with absolute stunning contentnn2. Exynos 7420 processor with 14nm process (Samsung really did a good thing ditching SD 810 for overheating and used their own processor) nn3. 3 GB RAM (Please don’t compare this 4 GB of asus zenfone 2 which has intel processor Z3580 and exynos 7420 is light years ahead of intel one)nn4. 32/64/128 GB internal memory (If you select 32 gb model, please know that the usable memory will be around 23 gb)nn5. Edge dual display: This edge has very few functions than what you see in note edge.so for now this is more like gimmick and has very less features. But maybe there will be some third party apps developed to utilize the edge. Also, please note that you can’t use both edge at same time. You get to select any one side of edge and use it. I think this is good for left handed persons who can comfortabily use by swapping the edge.nn6. 16 MP primary camera with optical image stabilizationnn7. 5 MP for selfiesnn8. Exynos 7420 comes with wolfson DAC which means audio quality will be amazing through headphones OR speakers (Here am not talking about the loudness but the clarity of the sound. Try to play flac files OR mp3 with 320kbps and you will see what I mean)nn9. Universal Flash Storage system UFS 2.0 for reducing power and increase memory performancenn10. Samsung finally understood that Touchwiz is cluttered and removed many apps and gives the user to install them from google play in case interested(which i think will never happen :P)nAlso, it gives an option to disable any touchwiz app already installed but please note that this option just disables and hides the app but does not uninstall completely.nnCons:nn1. Battery 2600 mah that gives you one day with normal usage since the resolution is QHD. For the money you pay like 60k, it would have been great to see it to last for 1.5 to 2 days. But again if you are used to charge the phone daily at night before asleep, i think this is not going to be a problem.nPower saving mode will help you in case you want the power and use the phone with ONLY basic options.nn2. Price is high. As usual, samsung launches the model with high price and reduces the price in another 3 to 4 months. So it’s your call to wait for few months and see if price gets reduced(probability is more considering the previous galaxy versions) and buy it nn3. Non removable battery which was a selling point for the previous galaxy models.nn4. No SD card slot - You need to pay extra 5k if you want to upgrade to the next higher memory models.nnI am rating the model as 5 stars because the cons are NOT really a con from my point of view. I got used to daily charge my phone during night. Non removable battery and no SD card slot are not deal breakers as many phones are coming up nowadays with non removable batteries and you can select any memory options in case you feel you need more memory.nnI am just waiting for the launch of green edge model and hopefully the price reduces in 2 to 3 months.nHope my review helps you on your purchasing decision.nnOne small note: Please don’t compare this phone with iPhone 6. iPhone is a king of one world(iOS) and Samsung S6/S6 edge is a king of another different world(Android). So there is no point in comparing the specs except for the fan boys satisfaction but here the real selection criteria is which world you want to live in. If you want to live with iOS, then iPhone is the ONLY option and if you want to live in Android, then Samsung s6/s6 egde is ONE of the many options available. Just my 2 cents here!

MUST READ TOP 12 reasons for NOT Buying Galaxy S6 S6 Edge

Even though I love & live Samsung, here are some of my major disappointments with the new Samsung Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge.nn1. NO MHL 3 to HDMI support.nn2. NO USB 3 / 3.1 & USB type C.nn3. NO user replaceable Battery.nn4. NO Micro SD card slot.nn5. NO IP67 Dustproof or waterproof.nn6. NO Glove mode for increasing touchscreen sensitivity.nn7. NO LED indicator notification MENU. Just On or Off option.nn8. Smaller Batterynn9. NO Temp & humidity sensornn10. Ever increasing size. S4 was just 136mm in lenght and was very compact and convenient. S6 is 8mm longer at 143+mm with marginal increase in screen size.nn11. It is clear from various drop tests that S6 is not as durable as most Samsung phones in the past.nn12. No way to sort apps in the app drawer. Only an edit option to manually sort each and every app!! And, No way to move entire app drawer pages for arrangement.nnHope Samsung incorporates these features in the upcoming Note 5 and S7.nnPlease like and share this video, so that this message reaches Samsung, and it incorporates these features in the upcoming Note 5 and S7.
