Defective Product

Dont buy this Phone. It has heating issues. Got a replacement piece from Flipkart and that also has heating issues. Battery backup is horrible.4 hours with moderate usage. Some games just crash , I feel Cheated to buy spice.

Good set of hardware and software packed in a neat package.

Already have a Samsung galaxy s2 for more than a year now. Wanted to try out one good Indian Manufactured smart phones within a budget of 10k. Had two choices Micromax A110 and Spice Mi-495. Went for the spice one. Decent set of hardware and software in it. After using Galaxy S2 this phone was up to the mark. Battery backup same the usual problem with android phones. Phone looks good especially within the free leather pouch which comes with it and its very handy too. Slim but a bit heavy. Heating problems as quoted by others, didn't find it. Used it continuously for one hour playing games, transferring music and browsing on the net. No heating problems as of such. Build quality reasonable considering the price paid for.

Please stop complaining about battery life and heating issue

I am using this mobile since 3 months and initially its battery backup was low (about 12hrs on moderate usage) but now if you keep discharging (making 0%) and charging (making 100%) your phone, your battery life will significantly improve... i have now installed a lot of apps and get more than day backup on moderate usage and even more than 2 days on low usage which is very good for a smartphone...nAbout heating issue, you will find it common in every android device and is nothing new... Also it doesn't heat too much as said in the comments even on very high usage...nI have to say this phone is very durable as i even dropped it once from my shoulder level and there were NO cracks on the screen or any other damage except for a small dent on its silver ring and the phone works without any problems..nThis phone is nice buy and has really good touch sensitivity compared to mmx canvas 2 and will prove better in the long run...

Comparision with mmx canvas 2

Comparing with mmx canvas 2nnpros:n-better design: less thick and better looks.n-light sensorn- durability due to partnership with huawei: this phone is made by huawei which is a good and reliable company on the other hand micromax doesn't manufacture phones, they just put their logo on mobiles manufactured by other Chinese companies so don't expect better build quality and will show problems after 4-5 months..n-better touch sensitivity: I have used canvas 2 and the touch is not so smooth as on this device which is similar to the touch you get on high end samsung devices..n-more included accessories in the same price tag: get free screen guard and flip cover.n-better resolutionn-better screen size: 4.5 inch is perfect design good for single handed use and portability.n-better front facing camera: 1.3MP compared to 0.3MP.n-bluetooth version: v4 vs v3.nncons:n-no ips display: still the colours in this phone are bright and vivid and viewing angles are not much of usage.n-less battery: 1700mAh compared to 2000mAh but still it has smaller screen so it has less battery usage. nnIn totality i think mi-495 is the winner mainly due to better build quality (you won't want spending 10k on a mobile that would last 4-5 months) and touch sensitivity.

Time has come that we start trusting Indian Brands

Hi All I am a major gadget freak and I am totally bankrupt in buying this goodies. After a lot of research I thought of buying Mi-495 and fortunately I got the chance to play around with it because one of colleagues purchased the same from Flipkart. I was shocked to see the battery backup as my friend needs to charge it continuously throughout the day. Other than the battery the phone looks smart, got a leather cover within the package and gives a AnTuTu benchmark of 6298. Despite being skeptical, I tried my luck and purchased the phone from my local Spice brand store. And Oh my... its a super phone... No battery hassle, the touch is smooth, Camera response is a bit slow and I can bet its not 8 MP, but excellent voice clarity and signal strength. Another gripe is you have to enable data roaming to get 3g data from your SIM and not at all in a roaming state. Overall I am very happy with Mi-495, well done Spice. I got it @ 10,200 from the store but without the 16GB memory card which FK is offering.
