i have been using this notebook for almost a month and its workin superb PROS: good processor compatible with both win 7 and win 8, 64 bit 500 gb hdd :) 2gb ddr3 ram :) looks r awesome, 1.2 kgs weight!!! lesser than an ultrabook cons- no cd drive,who needs it anyways in 2013
I bought this net book from sneapdeal but the review is here. Its good laptop with a better processor CDC 1007U.It is point less to choose any Atom or AMD processor's netbook which can not even handle the OS (win7/Xp) smoothely .One can run any application smoothly in this laptop . I recommend it to all who want a netbook with excellent look ,display, bettery life and performance .Those who want USB 3 donot choose it .
Where day to day needs are there, aspire v5-131 comes into play. Its a perfect laptop. Pros: 1. nice processor. 2. very handy. 3. battery backup is very good. 4. RAM: upgradable to 8gb. 5. keyboard is good. 6. 3 usb ports. 7. wifi is superb. 8. does not heat up too much after heavy usage. Cons. 1. no usb 3 ports. 2. touch pad can be better. Eliminating the above 2 cons, I think its the best laptop available in the market within 20k range.
Its a very good laptop at Rs18,000. I have upgraded it with 8 GB RAM and a 120 GB SSD which added Rs10,000 to the cost. Now a cold boot is around 18 seconds and around 4 seconds wakeup time. Keyboard and the track-pad are not the best but at this price pretty decent. Intel CDC 1007U not only performs well for day to day use but also handles VMs well. Still there few compromises like USB 3.0, 4.5 hours battery backup etc but this system is a good small handsome work horse.
Taking off one star for the cons i mentioned, else the machine seems very very nice. I didnt buy it from Flipkart but thot id clarify some details mis-represented on this site. I got the OS-free version for 19500 [Linux] and loaded windows 7, Acer has win-7/Win-8/Win-8.1 drivers for it on their site for this machine. Acer V5-131 has two memory slots Acer V5-131 can take a max of 8GB RAM [im using 2 X 4GB Corsair i got fm flipkart] Pros : - Has two Memory Slots and can take upto 8GB [my primary reason for buying] - 1366 X 768 means its pretty standard, useful if you run macros and have a desktop with the same res. - Does not heat up much - Mic is very very good, excellent pick up - Battery backup is good - Battery is slightly raised, so even on a flat surface the base is raised a little, helps cool - Keyboard is very well spaced out, i could type almost full clip as i do on a regular one - USB Charge on sleep > You can use the USB port to charge phones while it is on 'sleep' Cons : - No mic-in port - No USB 3.0 port - No lights for HDD / WiFi / Bluetooth etc. Lights only for 'plugged-in' and 'on/standby' [Not a big issue because their on-screen fade-out indicators are very good] Been using this at times for 30 mins with 100% usage on both cores :O and the core temperatures do not go up above 60C :D.
