First, cheers to flipkart for good packaging, fast delivery (less than 48 hrs) and for less price (Rs. 3000 off) compared to other sites. For me, it is a nice welcome to the netbook world again. I had a bit apprehension of being slow may be a nostalgia of atom processors. I was simply bowled out when I started using this quad core pentium processor. It made me happy. I will list pros and cons. Pros: 1) First about the processor N3530: It stands almost in par with any core i3 ultra processors but for cheaper price. *** Higher clock speed 2.16 GHz *** performance per watt 42.61 pt/W *** 4 cores *** cheaper compared to i3 processors *** very less power consumption TDP is just 7.5 (vs 12.5 u and 35 for m processors) 2) Has a sharp screen 135 ppi. HD screen in 11.6 inches makes fonts small but you can scale it personally. 3) Has all the ports, viz VGA, HDMI, card reader, kingston lock, 1 usb 3 and 2 usb 2 4) Light weight. Just 1.2 kgs 5) Thanks to asus for giving compact windows 8.1 without any bloat wares. 6) Ubuntu 14.04/ Linux Mint 17 installs and runs breeze. All the drivers are out of box. No need for any properietry drviers Cons 1) Ram cannot be upgraded. You have to stay with the 2 gb ram provided. Asus have embedded the ram in the board. Flipkart should change this in spec. 2) Again battery is not user replaceable
Hang Up For 15 Sec Every App You Open ....Really Pathetic Speed. Dint Blame Asus Blaming Processor Quad core ...go for higher processor.
Although FlipKart mentioned 3 days time for delivery, i actuall received in less than 24 hrs. I booked it around 4 in evening and received it by about 3:30 PM next day. Amazing speed. I was delaying this decision as i had to go for the exchange offer and was a little bit dicey for having to be without a system till i get the new one. But this exchange offer from flipkart is amazing , i Booked day 1 with serial number of my old laptop for exchange. backed up my data on WD Passport ( That too bought from FlipKart). Exchanged the old against the new ASUS Netbook. Got a 5000 Rs off. Final Landing price of a Rs.22500 piece came to Rs. 17500. About the product. Its light weight, compact, powerful and just what i wanted
Not recommended for a multi tasker. Even opening a few tabs in chrome can make this thing hang. Build quality is ok, except the touchpad sometimes pops up a bit(you can press it down :p).nnUSB 3.0 isn't working well with win7. You can hear some tick tick sound in HDD while operating!! Keyboard is good, i liked it. nnThe 2GB ram is not sufficient for smooth running of win7 and i bought it just because FLIPKART Lied to me that there is one unused slot for RAM. One of the support guy even asked me to order another 4GB RAM and upgrade it!! I took the lap to ASUS and they told me the RAM is integrated and it can't be upgraded. I am planning to go to consumer court against flipkart for this white-collar cheating.
I got this product with a screw missing on the bottom corner and also there is a gap between bottom panel and keyboard panel. I raised a return request and the product got replaced on the next day itself. But this time, the new product is not booting. It is shutting down automatically within 2 min. Again i raised for a return request. It has been a week and there is no proper response from customer service till date. The only thing that i can see in the status is "your return request for order OD40830172023 is under process". They said that i will be receiving a call from their engineering team within 2 days. But God knows when it happens. My colleague got a same laptop from snapdeal and he is very satisfied with his product. I made a mistake. I should have bought this in snapdeal.
