Bought this laptop in January and have been using it continuously for office as well as entertainment purposes and i am glad to have made this purchase. The sleek desgin, the white colour and the chiclet keyboard are the main advantages apart from a hard processor and mamoth RAM which makes multiple processes running at the same time smooth. One drawback i would say is that the sleek machine has been provided with only 2 USB ports. Need a USB Hub everytime i want to perform multiple functions like using flash drives, connecting my phone etc. Also, while watching HD Movies, some blurness can be noticed in the screen corners, still tolerable cuz of the price and competition it is giving to other manufacturers in the market. I bought the Asus F501A after doing some extensive research. Of course, as usual, the delivery time and service by Flipkart was excellent. Where the laptop is concerned, because of its 15 inch screen, it does look big. When you shut it though,it looks slim. Weight-wise, its in the middle of the belt category, not too heavy, not too light. Peformance: I use the machine for uploading to my websites, low end graphics, and stuff like that. Till now its served my purpose (been almost 2 weeks now). The processor delivers good performance, though YouTube videos still need some buffering time. The keyboard though could use some improvement, slightly sluggish. Plus the white colour could be done away with and some other colour introduced. It comes with Windows 7 basic so thats a relief, but you still need to buy an Windows Office version, which sets you back, money-wise. You can upgrade it to Windows 8 but for now, you will lose the USB 3 port access because 8 does not support it, so I am stuck with Windows 7 Basic. The battery time is fantastic, goes on for 5 + hours. Overall, this laptop on a scale of 1-10, is just about 7. Asus is still not a well-known brand in India, even my children made a face when they first saw what I had purchased. But overall, I think I made the right choice for the kind of money it cost versus the hardware/software it has.

Hey guys, Waste of a laptop. After i bought this, windows had multiple issues within few months and another month later some of the keys started malfunctioning. Laptop would get switched off by itself sometime. And above all "NO SERVICE PROVIDED BY ASUS" .. Even though there is a 1 year global warranty. They are still giving multiple excuses. Well all I would say after using this system, I would never trust ASUS with their products again, cause even if the products may be of fine quality without a service eventually they are useless..

I was searching for something with 4 GB RAM + Atleast I3 processor + Windows Basic, very few choices under 30k in this segment at this point of time. Then I found this one, was sceptical in buying ASUS as its not as well known in India as some other brands. Finally ordered it (outside Flipkart though), I am impressed with the look & feel of this machine,really slick. One other factor that mightly influenced my decision in favor of it is -its weight ~ at 2.07 kg -its one of the lightest in its segment. (Though they have taken the CD Drive & thats a minus,but I was ok as I hardly use any CDs). Keyboard also takes time to getting used to. But overall it feels like value for money stuff !!!
