User Reviews for Asus X550CC-XX072D Laptop (Core i3 3rd Gen/4 GB/500 GB/DOS) Laptop

I was looking for a laptop that had an nvidia graphics card, a 3rd generation intel iX processor and most importantly an anti-glare screen. And this was the only laptop I was able to find in the market, after a 3 month search both offline and online (Samsung NP300E5X-S03IN was out of stock everywhere), that met all the above requirements. Using glossy screens left me frustrated, as they restrict the usage significantly. And unfortunately none of the laptop makers now a days seem to bother about this aspect. Apple gives its customers a choice between glossy and anti-glare screens on all their models. Having used this laptop for a little over a week now, here's my take:nnpros:n1. Anti-glare screenn2. Decent build quality (but the hinges are made out of plastic)n3. Soft-touch Chiclet keyboardn4. Wifi has good range (Atheros AR9485WB-EG)n5. Does not become hot after long usage, thanks to the low-voltage processornnCons:n1. Finding it hard to use the mouse buttons on the touchpadn2. Only 2 USB ports (1x2.0 USB and 1x3.0 USB port)n3. No backlight for the keyboardn4. The caps-lock, num-lock LED's are noticeable only in the darkn5. 2.3 kgnnThe GeForce GT 720M graphics card on this laptop is the one that was released on 25th December 2013 and has 192 shader units (CUDA cores) clocked in at 719 MHz as against the previous one with 96 shader units clocked in at 625 MHz. But the memory bus still remains at 64 bit.

I didn't buy this laptop from flipkart, but bought it from ASUS Exclusive store. Everybody make sure before buying that the laptop box should be properly sealed with ASUS Seal, if seal is broken don't buy.nnFirst of all its correct name in ASUS X550CC-XO072D. Flipkart is selling this product with wrong name as X550CC-XX072D which is wrong.nnPerformance:n1. CPU : 1.8 GHz 3rd gen intel i3 3217U cpu which is a low voltage yet powerful processor from intel and requires only 17 watts of power. Here U means ultra low voltage. You can run any application without any problem.nn2. GPU : 2 GB Nvidia 720M is enough to play latest games till 2013. All games at full resolutions. Tested games are COD series like MW, MW2 and MW3, nfs 2012, grid 2, tom clancy ghost recon, battlefield 4 etc. I m using a laptop cooler and it lowers the gpu and cpu tempearture by 3 to 4 degrees, I never game without laptop cooler.nn3. Build Quality : It has very good build quality and back of the screen has a finger print finish with chrome asus logo. nn4. LED indicators : All led indicators present like for HDD, caps lock, charging, wifi etc.nnDrivers CD comes with support to windows 8 only so u have to manually install the drivers from cd. Open the cd and go to softwares folders and install all softwares one by one. For wifi and bluetooth install only atheros qualcom drivers otherwise you will get problems if you install ralink and realtek together. nnAbout Hardware Quality:nnNo doubt asus is no. 1 motherboard manufacturer of the world and is ODM which is bigger than OEM companies. ASUS has the best hardware quality as compared to HP, Dell, etc.nnWeb cam driver is not present in cd. Download from asus website for ASUS X550CC XO072D.

**Update::its been 3 months after i bought this laptop until yesterday it didnt showed any problem..but today when i started my computer a really annoying sound from the fan start coming..nowi cant even do a skype call..not yet gone to the service centre i will update the info right after checking the asus customer servicennnactually the real model name of this laptop is "Asus X550CC-Xo072D" (funny thing is if you search flipkart with the real model name you will get a link where the price is 34k)nnfist of all the ..for the first time i was disappointed with the service of flip kart .this model was not available in Kerala .In fact every asus laptop listed in flipkart is not available in kerala.so i had buy it from bombay ...but delivery and everything was perfect just like always.(but it would be great if you'd have provided bag with it...nnnnow lets get to the point THE REVIEWnnfirst of all the laptop is awesome for the price..actually i got it for 30k(ihad a hdfc card offer)nnfor this price no other company gives you such pricesnnbefore getting to build quality lets straight away go to performancenthe i3(3rdgen) processor under the hood is actually doing its job perfectly .i'm aperson who plays games a lot and also use softwares like Adobe Ps,Ae frequently.and for me this laptop is doinggreat.almost every new games worked in it decentlyi'm listing a few games i played belown*Assassin's Creed IV - Black Flag--------works in high graph ,but perfect in med graphn*NFS Rivals-woks perfectlyn*splintercell blacklist-work perfectly in med graphn*COD BlackOPS-works perfectlyn*borderlands2- "nnone thing i'm not happy with is the wifi...in my laptopits not getting range well...but others who hav the same lap do get it perfectly.and the most disturbing thing inthis laptop is its spacebar it gives me headache .it doesnt works if we press on the bottom of the space bar.sowhile we are typinga bigparagraph mostof the time space doesn't worknnand lets get to the build qualitynbuild quality is pretty decentnthe ring grooves in the laptop givesit a stylish look and perfectfor holding in your handsnthe chicklet keybord is awsomenin other reviews everyone blamesits track pad but in fact ilove thosenthe track pad is actually quite big.so its perfect for multi finger gesture
