Its simply Amazing. (usually i don't write reviews but this made me write it) Do not go for any other laptop before June 30th 2015 coz i'm telling you, this thing gives you the deal. Processor: Its core i5 5th Generation 5200, the best available at this price range. Ram : again the best available at the range, 4 Gb HDD: Its SATA HDD with 5400 rpm, 1TB Now the best thing for gamers, Graphics: Nvidia 920M,2gb... now let me tell you what this is... If you buy a dell, hp, lenovo laptop in this price range 35000-45000, you are most probably going to get either nvidia 720m or 820M(1GB graphics) or AMD Radeon 230M(2GB), but the thing is the quality matters devastatingly b/w nvidia 820m vs 920m(i don't even want to talk about 720m and radeon 230m). The shader units available in 920m is 384 whereas it is just 96 shader units in 820m. This graphics card is atleast 1000 rupees more than the counter parts which are just entry level graphics cards. But this guy, nvidia 920M comes under mid-range graphics which is really a big deal. Asus Back to school offer: Yes, this is again a great offer available if you are a student and are planning to buy a laptop in this summer. ASUS has this offer at (asusbacktoschooloffer.com) where you can register and get amazing complementary gifts for free like 3 years warranty at no additional cost. Design: it has glossy finish which is the only drawback in it,but hey, that's the case with hp laptops too. Your finger-prints will be seen very easily (so you gotta buy a bottle of colin every year).. (this is the only place where lenovo laptops will take the lead) Build: The feel of the keys, the touchpad is really great and the overall build of the laptop is amazing. I'm telling you its a beast. Just Remember to install Windows 8.1 (not windows 8) on it as all the drivers will then be supporting it. Review: 8.5/10 Overall performance
I got mine and it looks pretty new to me. Turned it on and created accounts. Very nice feel overall and seems much higher quality. ASUS IS MY FAVORITE BRAND. EVERYTHING I BUY WORK AS EXPECTED.
I got the laptop in a day of order as I'd opted for quicker delivery options. Packaging was brilliant. The Laptop Box was well protected by a thick padding of big-sized bubble wrap. Undoubtedly, 5 stars to flipkart for this. You get a good feel of the product as soon as you see the ASUS box. The laptop comes with a long enough power cable (Adapter cable + DC cable). There is a driver CD along, which is meant for Windows 8.1, but you can still install it in Windows 10 (except the Intel HD 5500 VGA Graphics driver which needs to be downloaded and installed for Windows 10). Coming to the laptop, you'd require only one word to suffice : AWESOME! The build quality is very good and feels absolutely Premium. It is very thin at the sides and is lightweight. The dock has a chrome finish with a brushed metal look. The keyboard feels very comfortable and widespread. The track-pad is totally non sticky and big enough. The heat vents are superbly placed at the monitor-dock joint, so you needn't worry if you're working on bed. Its really amazing to work on. This time 5 stars to ASUS for this design and build. Now the pros and the cons: Pros: Battery - It gives around 5-6 hours on basic working offline and around 3 on WiFi. You can get around 1.5 hours on gaming. Display - The display quality is very good and vivid. Has an absolute viewing angle of around 180°. Heating - There is absolutely negligible heating. The keyboard and dock doesn't feel to get warm at all. As long as you aren't gaming there is no heating at the bottom too. On gaming for an hour the bottom starts to get warm but not hot. Sound - ASUS has implemented SonicMaster technology which gives clear and powerful sound clarity. Performance - The best I've seen for this price. The processor seems adept at anything. The storage is plenty. The RAM is quite decent in this category. Finally talking about the Graphics, it has dedicated 1997 MB of NVIDIA 920M and integrated Intel HD 5500. Gaming on this laptop is amazing. I can run Farcry 4 on high to very high settings, Watch Dogs on high, so with GTA V and FIFA 15. There are no frame drops or lags at all. However, be sure to install Windows 10 properly and get activated. Cons: The boot has a con. You've to press the power button once, let the display pop up, and then you've to power up again to begin. To access boot menu you've to Press F2. Booting windows takes around 15-20 seconds. You get a feeling that your device is having a disorder. The VGA camera is horrible. Make sure you get a clip on webcam if you're onto making video calls. ASUS has some support issues with the OS. Get Windows 8.1/10 if you're not Linux user. Lower versions of Windows has issues with drivers; e.g. the WLAN driver doesn't work on Windows 7. Also you might face some issues with Windows 10 direct install at the beginning, so first get an activated Windows 8.1 and then free update to Windows 10. Make sure you install the 64 bit version for best performance. Lastly, RAM is not at all less but is a bottleneck in comparison to the other specs. You might not be entirely pleased if you have a tendency of doing multitasking while running graphics intensive applications. Summing up, this laptop is a very good pick for the price. Just go for it. You might ask the service center and upgrade the RAM for 2-3k later, if you require.
To start with, If you got only 40K and u want to experience hard core gaming. This is the laptop for u, I have been using this laptop for 3 months now. And believe me when I say that I struck a bargain. Smooth performance, no heating and no lagging in any way.
The Laptop is very powerful both internal(i5 5th gen & 2GB Nvidia 920M) and external(Build). I installed windows 7 It gave me problem since the drivers were not supporting it. Better go with Windows 8.1. Installed NFSMW 2012 , FIFA, Crysis running smoothly. The Battery Backup is very long. Smooth Touchpad with smart Gestures. Chukking Asus Machine
