Good Phone, Very bad connection Problem but shorted it out now....

When i first bought this phone, i was very disappointed to find out you cannot switch between 2G and 3G network mode on this phone. Its always on the dual mode.nnIts particularly very bad when your home is on fringes of mobile network in your area, I rarely got 3G tower in my phone. but then i found out a way for it online.nnJust dial *#*#4636#*#*nnand select Phone information Tab,nnthen scroll down and change WCDMA Preferred to WCDMA Only.nnand you will start getting 3G tower.nPls rate this as high as possible so everybody knows about this.....

Poor battery life

At first I would like to say Im a geek and im too much into tech and all so this review is heavynThis phone is great in terms of features. ZenUI is great. No lags while using the phone. Playstore crashes sometimes, unnecessary apps like weather, cloud storage and all take up some RAM ,Weather app cant be disabled.Out of 2 Gb RAM 600-700 mb is consumed already. Screen is great to look at, colors, sharpness etc , camera is good as well.n It has FM radio too.nNow coming the major issues which may change your decision to buy this phone.nHaving a 5 inch display,2gb of RAM, powerful graphics processor and a powerful cpu(intel atom[used in laptops mostly]) 2110 mah battery seems too less for this phone.nAlthough ASUS has managed to make this work by battery saver which works great only when youre not using the internet. Once you connect to wifi or 3g the battery drains at whooping rate of 1% per minute! The same happens when you play games.nComing the second con which again is may change your mindnIt has intel "x86" based processor, most of the apps made for android are designed to work in ARM based CPU(snapdragon processors or other ones to be specific). Many apps do work though.nTo make it clear, GTA San Andreas game was not designed for x86 CPU in the android version so the game crashes when you try to open it.Similarly you may face problems with other apps.nMaximum apps do work so not much of an issue for now.(Like various messengers, video players etc)nI tried playing GTA Vice City, it worked smoothly but as I said battery is not that great for gaming.nI still gave 4 stars because the phone isnt that terrible, nexcept from the battery everything else is great.nPROSnGreat display qualitynSmooth interfacenCamera works great(low ligh mode and all)nbattery standby is amazing(no drop in battery % after locking the screen)nInternet speed is amazing while using 3GnBuild qualitynLooksnScratch resistant screennReading mode in builtnMatte finish at back for good gripnnConsnBATTERY!!nPhone Volume levels are little low for listening to music on speaker.nFor ringtones and notification tones it is finenNotification led is way to dim. Cannot notice until you go near the phone and the notification colors are limited to green, red, orange onlynVery big in size its like 6 inch phablet with 5 inch screen.nNo backlit keys which is irritating to use at nightnnASUS must solve some problems in their update. battery life can be increased by removing useless apps and clocking cpu etcnARM emulation should be enabled for applicationsnNotification led brightness can be increased by tweaking voltage of LEDnOn screen navigation buttons can be enabled if ASUS works on it.nnIf these problems are solved this phone would be a hit in the market.nAt last I would say get this phone only if youre not a geek user like me and youre not into 24 hrs internet surfing or chatting. For general usage like calls, messages, music, watching videos, very lite browsing and whatsapp and very little amount of gaming get this phone because its dead cheap for these specs.nAlthough I am disappointed at ASUS for providing such great specs with such a terrible battery.

Broken Display with a fall from a height of 3 FEET.

Dear Friends,nnRecommended Only for persons who can handle it with CARE. Here is my story.. nnThe Mobile worked satisfactorily as per the specifications except the Battery Life but I am more concerned with the Gorilla Glass. I just dropped the mobile from a height of about 3 feet and when I picked up my phone, I was shocked to see my glass broken on the first fall itself. nnShocked as I was a Samsung user and have dropped my Old phone a multiple times without causing any damage to it.nnBiggest Shock was when I called the Asus Service Center mentioned in the ASUS website to find out that the replacement would cost me an approximate of Rs. 4500. nnI bought this phone for 10,000 and the glass replacement cost is 4500.

The only perfect review you can get

Ok i ordered the 16gb variant on this mobile. Firstly i was concerned about what i am gonna get in this competitive market. nnThe phone touch is very smooth it uses gorilla glass 3. The notification bar have this great feature like if you drag it from right side of screen it will show you shortcut of features like power saving, Wifi etc. and if you drag it from the left side it will show you the notifications like sms and calls etc. This phone has a quad core CPU. It uses Intel Atom with hyper threading there fore the OS take it as a quad core CPU and this CPU is better than you have on Galaxy S3 which is practically quad core.nnPhones runs smooth and can play any game on high setting without any lag. This phone looks awesome in hand and have good design.nnMostly people in market thinking and buying Xiomi mi3. Now we all know Asus has been into the technology market a longgg before Xiomi and Asus have a brand name and more service center across INDIA. So i am expecting a good service from Asus.nnSecondly Mi3 Doesn't have a SD card support so you will have to stick with 16gb variant which is currently available in INDIA on the other hand this device support upto 64 gb expandable memory through Micro SD card. nnThirdly Xiomi Mi3 doesn't support dual sim which is necessary these days as we all know mostly people like to have dual sim for call rates and other services. Asus does give you the dual sim support.nnThe UI is amazing on this phone. You will really enjoy this phone using it on daily basis.nnNow here comes the Cons part.nnI found that battery have a quick draining problem. I mean really you listen to music and play few games you will notice that your battery is draining really fast. So if you are planning to recharge your phone in the morning and use it all day with every feature like 3g and gaming and music and videos. Then this device is surely not for you. You have to use it very carefully to survive the battery for even on day at-least.nnSecondly i found the frequent heating problem in the phone. I was using Facebook on 3g in Delhi metro and after like 30 minutes of usage the phone start to heat and i didn't like it. If you every gonna do something heavy on this phone after a while this phone is gonna heat up that's for sure.nnThirdly and the most pathetic i repeat most pathetic Con of this phone is its Volume.nIf you play music on loud speaker you could barely listen to it therefore the volume speaker is very slow and down side of this phone. I compare the volume sound on this device and its 60% quieter than Galaxy Note 2 which has pretty good sound. You cannot hear the ringtone of this mobile if you are seating in another room. nnHowever if you gonna listen through earphones aur use this mobile on Aux cable it will give you the DTS type sound. nnSo finally i want to say that if you are looking for company name with great features you should go for it. But kept in mind all the things which i told is 100% correct.
