YU launches the Yureka Plus with a 5.5-inch full HD display, yours for Rs 9,999

Micromax-backed YU Televentures made its debut with the Cyanogen-powered Yureka (FAQs | review) in December last year. In May this year, the brand launched its second smartphone, the Yuphoria (reviewFAQs). Now the vendor has introduced its third offering, the YU Yureka Plus. The phone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD display, while the rest of its specs are similar to its predecessor.

YU Yureka Plus

Similar to the Yureka, the new phone supports India’s 4G LTE networks. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM. The phone runs the Android Lollipop 5.0.2-based CyanogenMod 12 OS. For imaging, it gets a 13MP autofocus rear camera with an LED flash, and a 5MP front snapper for selfies.

The Yureka Plus offers 16GB of internal memory (12.5GB user accessible), which users can further increase up to 32GB by inserting a microSD card. Apart from 4G, other connectivity options include dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, micro-USB, and A-GPS. A 2,500mAh battery lies under the hood, which promises eight hours of talk time and 210 hours of standby time. It will be available in Moondust Grey and a limited edition Alabaster White variant.

Yureka Plus variants

The YU Yureka Plus features a similar build quality to its predecessor – reinforced casing with a polycarbonate shell and a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the display. Similar to its predecessor, the YU Yureka Plus will also be exclusively available via flash sales on Amazon India. It has been priced Rs 9,999, Rs 1,000 higher than the Yureka. The first flash sale of the phone will take place on July 24th, for which the registrations will begin starting today.
