This is very good Low-light (CMOS HS sensor) Point and shoot for the price point. Following are pros and cons. Pros: - Sleek camera with amazing build quality with 12X optical zoom. - Image stabilization amazing even with full zoom. - Low light performance is very good for price point. - Large screen (3.2) - 1080p video capture quality is amazing. - Very low shutter lag and very quick back to back snaps. Cons: - Takes MicroSD instead SD card - Touchscreen is resistive so not very responsive - When connected to HDMI, one has to use touch screen to switch snaps (real bad interface). - Low capacity battery (just 100 snaps) - Wifi configuration not easy, Anroid app can just be used for snap transfer. - No viewfinder. - Supplied microSD card is slow (poor performance on CrystalDisk), I replaced that with sandisk 16G - Supplied pouch is useless. - Online registration (for 1+1 warranty) first said serial number invalid. Then I had to escalate it to canon to get it fixed.
The 1080p video can recorded for 2 minutes only on full charge. The battery dies afterwards. You need to connect it to constant power source to record 1080p video. What is the use of the feature if you cannot even use it? Look at Samsung and Fujifilm cameras. Same price range; but features and usability are excellent! Canon, please use your own products before fool the customers only with a brand-name.
