Awesome camera with super zoom

Did not buy on flipkart, but nevertheless thought I'd share my opinion. People keep talking about sx50hs being slightly better, but I've never had it so my opinions are unbiased. Quick overview: If you never had the sx50hs and want the closest thing to a DSLR without extra lenses and the biggest zoom that can fit in and still produce praise worthy photos, go for SX60HS. Been a canon powershot fan for years now and this one is easily the better super zooms in the market. Build quality: 5/5 stars Top notch, rubber matte anti slip like surface, SLR like grip handle overall great feel to hold the camera. Buttons and menu: 4/5 stars If you have used powershots earlier, the buttons and menu are very much the same. Sensor: 4/5 stars Cramming 16MP into this sensor adds a little more noise at higher ISO, but between 100-800ISO the pictures come out flawless. From 800 onwards unless theres lot of light its not really usable. Otherwise for most everyday pictures its great quality output. For really low light and high speed photos you may prefer other models. Super zoom: 5/5 stars The highlight of this model is the super zoom, quite fast and quiet zoom movement, and helper button for zooming into a subject are very useful. Expect to click a lot of birds and far off objects just because you can. Nevertheless a tripod is a must for good quality full range zoom photos. The anti shake does produce good results even in long zoom handheld shots. Expect a little purple fringing in high contrast scenes, but its no worse or better than other brands and models. Surprisingly great wide angle on the short end, if not for the zoom, the wide angle end really caught my attention. Creative shots and modes: 5/5 stars The regular fare of HDR, AV, P and other settings are available. interestingly this is the first camera where I actually use the AUTO mode and so far I've never been disappointed. Video: 5/5 stars I'm more of a still photo guy, but fullHD is supported with 60fps for slo mo photography Verdict: Go for it, if you want pictures that are almost as good as DSLR in a point and shoot format, want all the settings of a SLR, but prefer AUTO most of the time, dont want to carry a bag full of lenses. BUT if you dont mind a little lower resolution you should still try out the SX50HS, you could save a bit of money and get a 1/2 notch better photos in low light and high ISO scenes.

SX 50 HS is a better option

Firstly, Do not get fooled by the Zoom parameters alone. A lot of other things come into play such as shutter speed, aperture, ISO settings and image stabilization to get a proper idea of the performance of the camera. Secondly, for a camera which was to be an improvement from the sx 50 hs, it's a huge disappointment. I'd suggest the SX 50 HS not only because its cheaper but because its a much better camera over all.

Perfect product!

Fulfilled my expectation . Great product . Canon is always canon . Does not matter what's the size of sensor . Always the best performer . Previously bought Sony RX100 and returned it . It had hardware , software and image issues . Got motivated by the flipkart reviews about RX 100 but repented and so returned . That hanged like mobile and not good . This time did lot of research and landed on sx60hs . It's bulky and not compact like Rx 100 but it's brilliant . No issue for me of carrying such a bulky camera if its brilliant. I don't need a DSLR as I am not professional . Simply auto function should do all for me . Zoom is brilliant . What I did not like is battery is only 920mAh . Don't get fooled that it's 1200mAh battery , because many site shows that sx60hs has 1200mAh battery . I have got 920mAh. Lastly , canon or the seller should have provided an HDMI cable . It's very very important . Seller has not given any discount and sold exactly at MRP only . Overall , canon is canon . Brilliant images and sturdy body

Wonderful

Arguably the best all round bridge camera on the market for some time now, especially if bought in the 25 - 26K price range. Given that the Nikon B700 wasn't launched in India, this is the best option available today - especially if you want raw shooting ability also. While the maximum telephoto range is not really usable, the highlight of the SX60 HS is the consistently good image quality it delivers under most lighting conditions - this side of a DSLR. Build quality is good, and it feels like it is built to last. It's more compact (and lighter) than the Sony HX400V, and that makes it a lot more portable. Deducted 1-star only because the stocks shipped are fairly old (June 2017) and I found some particles under the lens of the camera when first delivered. Of course, Flipkart promptly replaced it, so I have no complaints now. However, the fact that dust and other particles were found UNDER the lens of a brand new camera, point to some laxity in the quality control of Canon, of late.
