  • How to lock the bootloader of my Asus Zenfone 3?

    A

Answered By Angel Sen | 1 years ago

Unlocking the bootloader gives you an option to perform multiple modifications to your Android device but, rooting your phone void the warranty and also you won't be able to receive any OTA updates further.

To unroot and lock your phone's bootloader you can follow the steps carefully mentioned below:

    1. . Download the factory RAW ROM from the link below as per your device model number.

      ZE520KL:  Here

      ZE552KL: Here

    2. . Unzip the files and click on install adb-setup-1.4.2.exe (You can find this in Bootloader Kit)

    3. . Hold Shift and Right Click anywhere in the folder to open PowerShell window or Command Prompt Window

    4. Now just copy  paste this command: fastboot devices

    5. . After running the above command if it shows the serial number of your device, it means you are good to go

    6. . Now copy paste this command:  fastboot oem lock

    7. . Then, copy paste this command: fastbook reboot bootloader

    8. . Once you are done with running above commands. Congratulation! You have locked your bootloader successfully

You can see that on device stats or fastboot splash screen

Now Download the Stock Oreo ROM here and flash it to your device using Asus Flash Tool

      ZE520KL: Here

      ZE552KL: Here

While flashing RAW firmware via Asus Flash Tool if you get any error ( FRP request error) just ignore it.

After booting, if it asks for pin then just wipe data and cache via Recovery Mode

To enter recovery mode just press Power Button + Volume Down)

Also, check the attached video for your reference for Asus Zenfone 3.

  • How is the battery backup of Zenfone 3 under heavy usages?

    G

Answered By Gayatri Chatterjee | 2 years ago

The ZenFone 3 packs a 3,000mAh battery, with USB Type-C standard fast-charging, which looks quite good if you consider the industry standards and other hardware details of this device. On our standard video loop test, we got over 8 hours of continuous video playback, with the brightness pumped up to maximum, and some apps running in the background, and the WiFi turned on.

But in real-life usage, the ZenFone 3 fared better. Under heavy usage, with the network being alternated between WiFi and data, we got to run the ZenFone 3 for an entire work day, needing to top up the battery only in the late evening, just before the cab ride back home. The work day would start typically at 9.30 am, with the battery charged fully, and through the day we would use the device to consume media, browse through a lot of viral videos on Facebook, play all sorts of games, check out Instagram frequently and also make a few calls, and we would need to top the device off only by 7.30 pm, where it would have 20% of charge left. On moderate usage, however, while using the ZenFone 3 as a secondary phone, with many power-saving methods applied, we did manage to squeeze out a little more than a full day of battery backup from the device.
