I bought this laptop from a different store, i.e., I did not buy it on/from Flipkart. I have been using this laptop for almost a month now (as of late July, 2014) and here is what I feel: This is a fairly decent laptop, albeit a bit costly for its configuration. Positives: * Great looks * Decent keyboard ... "almost" similar to Apple's keyboard, but, (obviously) not of the same quality as Apple's keyboard * Runs fairly cool, although in my case I am using it as a desktop (i.e. it is on a cooling pad, on top of a desk at home) * Comes with 4GB of RAM (but see more in the negatives) * Comes with fairly recent 4th Gen Ci3 (but see more in the negatives) * The screen is 14" but feels like 15". Negatives: * Heavy!!! The sleek looks and 14" screen had me "assuming" that this would be a light weight laptop. But, that is not the case. The laptop is fairly heavy. * Comes with 4GB of RAM and that is all you can have. Let me rephrase that: It comes with 4GB of DDR3 L type of RAM. That is the new, "low power" version of RAM. Also, there is ONLY ONE memory slot. The slot is clearly marked with a "ONLY DDR3 L RAM" warning sign on the motherboard. I tried putting in my regular 8GB DDR3 RAM module into the slot and the laptop started beeping without booting. Even worse, the 8GB DDR3 L RAM modules are fairly costly compared to regular DDR3 RAM modules. (Last I saw, the quote was for about INR 7K for 8GB of DDR3L module!!!) * Comes with Ubuntu!!! This is not a problem if you "love" Ubuntu. I hate Ubuntu. :) First, I upgraded from Ubuntu 12.04 LTS that came on this laptop to 14.04 LTS. But, I quickly realized I still hated Ubuntu, so I immediately replaced it with Xubuntu 14.04. With Xubuntu 14.04 on this laptop (no Unity, no bad-package dependencies, etc), things seem sane. * The 4th Gen Core i3 processor feels like a lower-end processor for reasons I am unable to fathom. I have a couple of other laptops at home, some running 2nd Gen Core i3 and some running 3rd Gen Core i3. The 2nd Gen feel more "empowered" than the 3rd Gen. But, for an unknown reason this 4th Gen Ci3 processor feels like using an ancient single core pentium. I don't know why. I have NOT run any benchmarks yet, so this may just be a feeling. But, I also assume that the 4th Gen "low-power" combined with DDR3 L have something to do with that feeling. * For the given hardware configuration, I feel that this is a bit costly. * Comes with a weird laptop bag that I think could easily pass as a ladies-duffle-bag or carry-on bag, albeit with a big honking DELL sign on it! Really weird (the looks like a ladies duffle bag ... part of it)!! :D I feel that Dell has introduced a fairly decent laptop in the Indian market after a long time. If you feel this is a good configuration for you, go for it.
Guys the product is pretty cool and up to my demand,i request you to Go always for higher congig than your requirement.For Dell products visiting Dell website or purchase from dell call center is preferred,There it is much cheaper..
I bought this product from Flipkart. This is decent looking and best configuration according to cost. Positive: 1. Light weight,slim,easy to carry. 2. Good battery backup (4 hrs) 3. Amazing front speaker audio quality/clarity! Negative: 1. Touch pad is not working on Windows 7 Almost this product is Good!!! :)
