Recently bought this machine from flipkart on Big Billion Day Sale... Flipkart service was as usual good....delivered within 5-6 days @ Rural area... 1. The product comes with a Dell(Targus) Backpack... 2. You will get a Notebook + Charger...No driver CDs...coz you need to create a reset disk yourself... 3. Notebook DOES NOT come with a DVD/CD Drive as mentioned... 4. Thin enough for a normal laptop and weighs around 2 kg ....(Don't compare to MAC) 5. Aluminium body (Plastic Inside) ----looks strong and good... 6. Comes with a BACK-LIT Keyboard with two light intensity settings...(Not mentioned in Specs) 7. Upto 16gb Expandable RAM (Not 8gb as mentioned) 8. Battery backup is good for 4-5 hours of normal use 9. Comes with MCAfee antivirus --- 15 months subscription 10. Speakers are too good for a Laptop... If you want a portable yet powerful machine....GO FOR IT...:)
Kudos to Flipkart and DELL for delivering this absolute more than decent & mean machine.nDelivery by Flipkart deserves a worth with great packaging. I received it through C.O.D. method.nI purchased this Ultrabook/Laptop during Diwali Offers(DELL Diwali DELLSE offer),got many goodies. nPros:-->na). I wanted a 14" screen based laptop,for its compactness.It delivered.nb). PPI(pixel per inch)is about 12 values/marks more than the PPI of a 15" screen,which makes some difference,yet a difference.nc). Intel core-i5(4210U) 4th. Generation with Intel 4400HD Graphics. Processing is very fast.Video watching experience is more than satisfactory and great.nd).4GB DDR3 RAM(upgradeable to 8GB),dual slots for memory sticks. Mine came with a single 4GB DDR3 stick,so an empty slot present for additional 4GB DDR3 stick(which I shall attach in the very near future). 1TB of HDD. PLENTY OF SPACE.nGraphics much decent and clear for non-gamers like me.ne). Separate AMD Radeon R7 265M GPU for the Gamers and enthusiasts. With GCN and Enduro Technology by AMD.nf).Back-lit keyboard a very big + point.ng). Large touchpad with very good sensitivity,left right click buttons neatly laid off.The keyboard is of Island type keyboard,with adequate spacing between keys.Keys are very good in touch and type responsiveness.nh).This is an Ultrabook as per Intel's standards.So DVD-writer is absent,which may be con for some but not for me. Already have an external DVD-writer from LG.ni). Superior Aluminium built body,except the below surface,which is made up of very good plastic.nj). Windows-8.1(64-bit) inbuilt.nk). Though a little tricky process,but I've successfully installed openSUSE-13.2(64-bit) besides Windows-8.1,making it a DUAL BOOT OS Ultrabook.nl).The Bacpack that came bundled is of Targus,which is EXCELLENT.nm). The Intel Centrino wifi module is excellent,more efficient after Driver updates.nNo issues at all while networking in wifi mode. Even my ZTE MF190 3G USB modem is functioning superbly with Aircel 3G Prepaid connection. NO ISSUES AT ALL.nVery fast 3G connectivity. nnCons:---> nSome very trivial yet important ones...na). Battery should be minimum of 4 cell.Though without using any external accessory,the battery backup time depending on usage scenario is about 4.5~5 hrs. MIND IT NO EXTERNAL ACCESSORY SHOULD BE USED,OTHERWISE BATTERY TENDS TO DEPLETE FAST.nb).Battery should have been externally placed as a separate battery module for easy change(actually this feature is absent in an Ultrabook ,though) it would have been easier for us to change from DELL.nc).Screen resolution should have been at least 1600x900 for a drooling experience. nStill it is a supreme Ultrabook/Laptop for my needs and ultimate satisfaction.
When I bought a dell product I had a high expectations for its performance (as I paid a higher price). However, in my case touchpad stopped working or worked randomly quite often after initial month. Dell call center people were helpful but situation of my piece has not improved even after re-installation of drive and other suggested changes. (Now, I have to call them again and waste time correcting issues). Further, even when it works performance of touch pad is really bad (for comparison even Acer aspire one notebook works much better). I also faced usual RAM related issues while working with over sized (30MB) excel files. I fell I may have been better off with a product of some other manufacturer with better specifications available at same price. Why to pay a premium for brand if it is not performing?
I've had a lot of issues with this model. The WiFi range is beyond pathetic and the track-pad freezes every few minutes. Have tried everything from re-installing the OS and drivers to getting them changed physically. Doesn't help. Everything else works fine, as advertised. But the WiFi range and track-pad issue is a major deal breaker that hampers everyday usage. I'd recommend you to stay away from this particular model.
hey guys...i recently bought this laptop from flipkart...as it was available for the cheapest price all over internet and other shops...hats off to flipkart for that...coming to laptop...its a very sleek and stylish laptop at this price !!! Actually its the best in price range of 45k...i was confused between hp and dell...but preferred dell because of its great service...otherwise both the companies are equivalent...lets discuss about some cons and pros of this laptop.nnPros:n1) Very Sleek !!! it gives you the premium feeling !!! (Please don't compare with macbook)n2) Sound - Best sound quality i ever heard in a laptop...SERIOUSLY...n3) Display - it comes with hd resolution which is must these days...n4) Built quality is great...and the aluminium finish on the back cover is awesome...n5) Back Light keyboard is awsome...n6) Large touchpad arean7) Graphics are awesome...have tried playing NFS MW 2012 on it and it works perfectly on medium settings and lags somewhat on high settingsnnCons:n1) keyboard quality is OK type...nand no other found till now...nnbought it from flipkart for just 42990 !! no comparison !!! If yo are looking for a good laptop in the range of 45-50k then go for this one....
