I am frustated while using the dell inspiron 15, 3542 note book, I have received from flipkart. The laptop is not getting charged. After switching the start button, it does not have a glow. The laptop starting time is note less than 3 minutes. All these problems and details were provided to flipkart team at bangalore, every time a new person come and I had repeated my problems to them umteem no. of times, they give a dead line of 48 hrs on 1st interaction, nothing happened. Thereafter on 2nd interaction, they have ask me to do some thing in the computer, the message coming on the laptop that there is a problem in charger and laptop will not charged. aftrer giving this feed back nothing happened. Thereafter in the 3rd interaction, Mr sharif, their executive advised me on 25.07.2014 that a technical person will positively attend to my laptop by visiting my residence by 29.07.2014. Noting happend till date. Thereafter I received mail asking for lot of laptop details, I have provided the same on 31.07.2014. Nothing happend till date. I am totally frustedet on the responce time of Flipkart custome care personnel. They do not bother about custome.
best product.....although had problems wid the touch pad....works smooth...takes 3-4 secs switch on and 4-5 secs switch off....its heavy and design is smiple...like the grey color thn the black one...has a SINGLE SLOT for RAM...so if wanna install new one,will have to replace the old one....

This notebook is meant to be a industrial manufactured grade B+ pos portalbe pc. Purchased two 3542's, and heres my findings. Noticed two areas of SIGNIFICANT CONCERN. Both involving the keyboard. 1) Keyboard layout the 10 key sounds great in theory, but your going to end up typing on the left half of the keyboard, leaving the right half along, causing you to either have to sit uncomfortably to the left of your monitor, or (more likely) use an external keyboard. .... If these were anything other than membrane switches, I might be more inclined to use it. 2) Keyboard functionality A few times now, in the first two weeks of ownership, I've noticed that keys get stuck. a LOT ... first it was function/screen mode (like clone, extend, off, on, etc) .. when gently pressing around the keyboard area, the defective key switched to the letter P. rebooting did not fix this, pressing gently around the area did not fix this... and it was semi-random in occurance. Calling tech support was also not too fun, but when was calling dell TS fun? (they went from taking 2 hours to answer your call, to 10 minutes to answer your call, back to 2 hours... or at least 40 minutes at 11:30AM PST on a workday. I ended up "fixing" the problem before getting to the agent by extracting the keyboard, unplugging the clearly improperly assembled ribbon cable mount, cleaning everything off (there were smudges present) then reassembling it. So IF your technically competent AND you don't mind having what feels like cheap injection molded toy for a laptop... buy away. P.S. plastic pry tools, like the ones capable of using on your cell phone or ipod to open it up without damaging the case marred the plastic and metal on the keyboard.. This is a CHEAP unit, treat it as such and dispose of it when it starts to act up. (or buy the extended warranty, your going to need it)
Best deal for this lappy (3k) discount, fastest delivery in 2 days, even best is offered with a dell backpack which is not mentioned. Flipkart is always best & WS Retail is my best pal. lappy is smooth 4gb RAM, 1Tb HD, 4th gen i5 procs, only cons: no back lit & 4 cell battery.
