Hi, I've just got the Dell Vostro 1540 laptop right 4 days after ordering from Flipkart. It is 15.6 inch 4GB/500GB/I3 Processor machine loaded with Ubuntu OS. There is a backpack which just fits the m/c. For those who've ordered and got the products from Flipkart I need not to tell about Packing Quality. For newbies just one word and that would be Flipkart packing is superb. If you are interested about the looks and Games rather than performance/specifications then just don't go for this laptop. If you're looking for Media/Net surfing/Entertainment purpose this is a very good deal for the money. Inspirons give the same performance but for higher money. Vostro is best if you're a basic user and not worried about running Loadful of softwares. There is Card-On-Delivery option for this product... Overall I'm very satisfied with this m/c. About Flipkart service: Awesome!! booked on monday 12AM .GOT on tuesday 3:15PM : 39Hrs:15min. About the laptop: Its preloaded with Ubuntu. Quite good. Looks = average.(Appropriate for the price) keyboard = good. trackpad = little sticky. OK for me since i will be using mouse screen = excellent audio = average speed = good webcam = below average (tolerable though) dell backpack = outstanding!!! (very impressed) Overall its a very decent buy for this price. Im more than satisfied!!

I bought this notebook computer on 27th Jan, 12. The packaging policy was simply awesome. It came preloaded with Ubuntu 10.4. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate onto it. The only problem is that you have to download all the drivers from DELL's official website by yourself as this notebook computer does not come with a necessary driver CD. But when you install all the mentioned drivers from DELL's site, the experience of using this computer is awesome. It has got a good 15.6" HD LED screen, Wi-fi, LAN, Bluetooth, HDMI Out, VGA Out, 4 hrs. of battery backup, island style (chiclet) keyboard, 1.3 MP webcam, a large touchpad, scratch resistant lid. It houses in Intel's Core i3 Processor which allows a very good experience for HD video viewing as well as editing. 4 GB of RAM & 500 GB of HDD storage is also very large. To conclude all this, its simply an awesome product & a must buy for every newcomer in the field of computing. Thank You.

This is my second laptop I ordered from flipkart. Received on third day after ordering. hats off to flipkart guys. keep up the nice work. Laptop : Price: worth ..you will not find any laptop with such configuration. Looks: Average sound: Good Screen : good Drawbacks: Keypad : No scroll in mouse pad but still you can change setting for doing so. Operating system : Ubuntu I got installed in it. Now I have installed win7 in it, Download drivers from dell site. Initialy, I got a problem with screen brightness which was very low. Even fucntion key was not working, but during start up when bios screen appears, you can increase brightness with function key.. your problem will be resolved, keep in mind to install mandatory drivers.

I ordered this laptop and got the delivery on 18th Jan 2012. Delivery was withing 7 days from the way on which order was placed. Plus Points: 1. Look is OK 2. Weight is normal 3. Ubuntu 10.10 is Free, so price is less as compared to win7 version Dell Vostro. 4. Laptop Carry bag is free. Negative Points: 1. Wifi connectivity is almost nil. If your priority is wifi access then don't opt for Dell Vostro with Ubuntu OS. Because wifi drivers provided with it for Broadcom Chipset are not proper. You will hardly get any wifi connectivity. 2. Sound quality is below normal. 3. Video quality is average. 4. Power reset button has no light. 5. When you will be typing on keypad, you will often touch the touch pas mouse. So cursor will move out of window where you will typing. 6. Power back is below average. Overall Conclusion: If Dell provides Good wifi drivers for Broadcom Wifi chipset then only you go with that.
