First of all, DO NOT LAUGH the name "Gionee". I laughed at it but i take back my words because its a very good mobile. I purchased it offline and got it at Rs 13000/- (The price at Flipkart was Rs 13500 that time). Now the pros and cons.nnPros:nn1. GIGANTIC 4000 mah battery. It will last ONE FULL DAY when using it whole day with data, wifi, bluetooth on and calls for about 2 hours. However, I have discovered that if you charge it overnight (7-8 hrs) via USB power to 100%, then it will last 2 full days.nn2. Excellent sound quality of calls and music. Music output is also good with decent bass.nn3. Some cool features like swipe photos without touching the phone (via wave of hand) and also open apps from lock screen by writing W to open whatsapp, O to open torch, C to open camera etc. (Keys may be required to be set)nn4. Metallic Body. Good looking. Almost looks like an iphone.nn5. Decent Resolution of the screen. Plays 1080p videos easily. However, VLC player may be required to play audio of .mkv files.nn6. 32 GB inbuilt memory with expandable slot upto 128 GBnnCons:nn1. Average Quality 8 MP primary camera and 5 MP front camera. Takes average quality photos.nn2. Although RAM is 3 GB, no such improvements in speeds is observed compared to my HTC desire 820 which has 2 GB RAM.
I am using Gionee Smart Phone since it was launched in India. From the 2 years of the experience, I can guarantee you that this mobile is really awesome. It has 3 GB RAM with 32GB ROM which allow you to install as many applications as you want. Besides, It has powerful 4000 MAH battery and relatively light weight. The smartphone features a 5-inch HD IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor which is very good for lag free operation and gaming. However, its price is little higher compared to Lenovo and Asus mobile of the same configuration. Overall this mobile is very good. Value for money.
It was an awesome experience using this mobile, Kudos to Gionee for bringing out M5 Lite with best of features and which does not bite your pocket.
Writing this after a frustrating experience with the phone over the last 2 months. Dont know why I opted for this brand. BRAND MATTERS and Gionee is no brand. To list down my experiences:nn1. It says dual SIM, but whenever I recieved calls on the 1st SIM, the phone rebooted automatically after 2 rings. Better still...the call log does not even register the call as a missed call. So no way to know who called you!!...SMS works from both SIMs thoughnn2. whats the point of buying a smart phone it its not smart?? Wifi works great. But the phone stopped catching 3G signals after 15 days of use. no 3G no 2G...infact no internet if you are not connected to the WiFi. great!!nnfew good points:nn1. Battery life is commendable. But when you have no internet, there is nothing much you can do with your phone.nn2. Camera quality okayish. Games run relatively okay with a few pausesnnDONT BUY THIS SHIT!!
