There are three factors you need to consider when you buy an Air Conditioner.* Your usage patterns* How many hours a day are you going to use the Air conditioner* Will you use it for the year or during specific periods only (say summer)* How many people will be in the room when AC is normally used?* The type of room you will cool with it.* What is the area of the room to be cooled?* How high is the ceiling?* Does the ceiling receive direct sunlight?* How many windows face west?* How may walls of the room receive direct sunlight?* How many things are kept in the room.? (Everything in the room needs cooled, some large things like a filled wooden cupboard may increase effect)* environmental factors* What is the ambient temperature outside?* What is the humidity level in your area?* Is the air corrosive (polluted. Saline)There are generally two main types of ACs available* Split AC* Window ACThe main difference between the two is that window air conditioner has a single unit whereas split air conditioner has 2 units (indoor and outdoor). The split is lot more silent in operation as compared to the window and looks aesthetically pleasing, but is relatively more complicated to install and requires more space as compared to window air conditionerAC efficiencyThe efficiency of AC is measured in EER (energy efficiency rating), ie BEE star ratings. In simple terms, it is the ratio of Cooling power (commonly known as tonnage) to the input power consumedThe below links will give you details on efficiency. Remember there are many factors other than the size of the room like Direction of windows, no of doors, roof exposure to direct sunlight determine the type of AC you need.Remember that ACs are high maintenance units, especially Split ACs. You also have to consider the cost of repairs and quality and strength of after-sales service of the brand you purchase. The link provided above will help you make an informed decision.AC Technology: Regular v/s AC Inverter* In a regular air conditioner:* The compressor is either off or on. When it is on, it works at full capacity and consumes full electricity it is designed to consume. When the thermostat reaches the temperature level set in the AC, the compressor stops and the fan (in AC) continues to operate. When the thermostat senses that the temperature has increased, the compressor starts again.* In an Air Conditioner with Inverter Technology:* The inverter technology works like an accelerator in a car. When compressor needs more power, it gives it more power. When it needs less power, it gives less power. With this technology, the compressor is always on but draws less power or more power depending on the temperature of the incoming air and the level set in the thermostat. The speed and power of the compressor are adjusted appropriately. This technology was developed in Japan and is being used there successfully for air conditioners and refrigerators. This technology is currently available only in split air conditioners. Also remember, preferably don't buy ACs online, and if you are buying online call up the Brand before you buy to confirm that they will provide service and warranty coverage. If you buy from a Local retailer, always bargain hard... Usually, they provide discounts of up to 20-25 percent (on MRP) if you negotiate rightMy opinionsMy personal opinion will suggest an inverter model as inverter ACs are generally better built and cost about 20% more than 5 star AC of came capacity from the same brand. The money saved on lower energy costs will offset the initial higher price paid. And remember to go for a comprehensive extended warranty and maintenance plan for any AC you buy.... the cost is nominal if you buy these plans before expiry off manufacturer warranty periodWhen it comes to brands Hitachi is best in India in my opinion in terms of build quality and after-sales service.Along with Hitachi, Daikin and Carrier is also good for inverter ACsLG and Samsung are good in Inverter AC in terms of Value for money, but get an extended warranty compulsorily on these Korean brandsFinally look at various stores and prices before buying your product. So go ahead... Get cool ... Be happy !!I hope my review was helpful!
Cooling capacity is very poor as compared to other brands. No value for money. Also, even though in warranty period service guys charged me for the service.
Worst ac. ..i hv never seen before. .
