Bought this on the exchange program and it worked out to about 19.3k. I thought it was a good bargain at that price. The Build looks robust, though it has a plasticky feel and weighs about just right! but the first time i loaded Windows 8, after few Windows updates, the Display Crashed. CAPSLOCK light was blinking and on checking online, it was concluded to be a CPU or HArdware issue. So, i returned this to Flipkart for a new piece. This new piece was delivered with DOS instead of UBUNTU, but nevertheless, i tried and installed Windows 8. But again after a few Windows Updates, the display regularly kept turning off at random. I didnt get the confidence that i could use this Laptop successfully even for simple browsing or media purpose because of these issues. So, now I have asked for a REFUND from FLIPKART. Another point is that HP doesnt officially support Windows 8 i.e. it doesnt have device drivers for Windows 8 64 Bit version. Also, if user tries to install Windows 7 64 Bit, then the screen resolution is limited to 1024X768 instead of the maximum 1366X768! This is because, the graphics driver delivered by HP for Windows 7 doesnt work on this Laptop. So, to sum it up, this Laptop has too many issues to be considered as Robust. I would advise that people look at other options, even if they are a bit costly.
I had ordered this laptop and received it. But it has only one memory slot whereas flipkart in website says it has 2 memory slot. I have contacted customer care twice but I have not received any call from flipkart executives regarding replacing the laptop.
I bought this lappy in exchange scheme and after exchange & 5% extra deduction d final price came down to Rs. 18,790. Although it's mentioned in the FK page that the lappy is Ubuntu per-installed but it's false. It's a Free-DOS lappy. After I installed Win7 x64, I faced lots of issues with driver s/ws which r available in the HP website,support link. None of the s/w were getting installed successfully. At this price, I think its the best laptop you can get for normal daily use. Its sleek, though the plastic feels a bit cheap...but I really dont have any qualms with it. Its doing its job quite well and I am very much satisfied with HP.
Initially, without drivers, it gives problems mentioned in other comments....... but after it works good...... Important: For drivers, consult the phone support i.e. written on the left side near the keyboard. They will solve your prob for sure :) . Pros=> display, battery backup, mike and basic hardware are excellent. . Cons=> looks and speed are to be compromised
