I bought this monster of a laptop after comparing with various models from many vendors. Close match was between this machine and Dell inspirion 7000 series. But HP machine provides more video RAM (4GB) when compared. Also the cost was almost same. So, i chose HP with some reservations, because i had never bought a HP product before. It had been Dell products till now. The laptop was delivered a bit late when compared to just 7 days by most suppliers. My first impression of the laptop is that i found it thin and decent looking. The speed is amazing. But there is one problem: namely Windows 8.1 Its going to be difficult for users to get used to W-8 as there is totally new interface (Metro) and no usual Start button as in Windows-7. I would conside this OS very poor and less user friendly. Problem started when i was prompted to upgrade Nvida drivers. On trying to install the newly downloaded drivers - i got BSOD screen and the system restarted. I had to use restore point to return the system to stable state. Repeadted upgrading of Nivida drivers failed. I tried support of HP, which was non-existent. Help was provided by Nvidia customer support. After a series of trials, finally i was able to upgrade to latest beta drivers as provided by Nvidia. There was no crash this time. The assessment of Nvidia support that the problem had been from Windows-8 which caused this issue. Unfortuantely my delight was short-lived as next Windows update resulted in worst case. Now windows failed to identify USB drive. Also, it had corrupted my resotre point. Unfortuntately i had to reinstall Windows 8.1 OS from HP recover provided in the machine. This will roll back all changes and delete some software but not the data. After this, i disabled windows update. Now, there are no issues with the system and Nvidia drivers are upgraded to latest drivers without a problem. I played Elder scrolls: SKyrim game and the quality was just amazing and the speed was great too. If you disregard Windows 8.1 poor performance, this is surely a wonderful machine. Also, i hope Flipkart would improve delivery time to within a week in future.
Please read this!! This laptop is the jack of all trades but buyer must do some minor adjustments to keep cons down.. Heating Issue: Even though this lappy has 4th Generation i7 processor, it heats up and the issue is not sorted out. Reviewers say that Processor is in a loop of continuous high power usage. BIOS updates are also unable to keep this issue down and so BEST solution for heating issue is by reducing the upper limit of the processor usage. This might sound weird but as this processor has turbo boost, it will pick up only when needed and rest of times it wont go beyond the needed processing power. To do this, goto Power options, advanced setting where you can see the list of hardware controls. Here, click on Processor and reduce the upper limit from 100 to 78-80%. Touchpad issue: This laptop has a touchpad which is completely next generation one, but users must understand first how it can be used. We being mouse users are used to left-click, right-click and scrolling. This touchpad and the touchscreen has capability of reading 10 finger touches at a time. So, think of possibilities here with these 10 finger touches. Even though this touchpad has buttons underneath it, clicking them is a hassle and that procedure must be forgotten in this laptop. In this touchpad, clicks are changed to tapping of fingers. For right-click, keep the cursor where you want to click and then tap on the touchpad with 2 fingers at once. This will do the right-clicking and you don't need to reach for a button with a thumb unlike old age laptops. Left-click can be done by a single tapping as most common with other laptops. Scrolling can be changed actually in Synaptcs touchapd settings. In the setting I enabled 2-finger scrolling. By 2 finger scrolling enabled, you need to keep 2 fingers at once on the touchpad and move both up and down to scroll up and down. There are many more options like 4-finger touch/5 finger touch settings too as per your need. I recommend people buying this laptop must also buy 32GB USB 3.0 flash drive as there is no DVD option. DVD is old things guys, it is better to forget it when you have USB 3.0 which delivers easily 8-15 MB/second. This laptop is made on the similar hardware specification of MacBook. So, even though the laptop is shut down, 2 USB ports on each side of the laptops can be used to charge the phones using USB connector, which is a huge advantage for people with smartphone. The biggest advantage of this laptop is when I ran VMware and SAP server. RAM usage peaked upto 7.8 GB keeping the processor at 0.9 GHz without any hassle which is an awesome feature at this price. Its RAM is a killer and keeps calm without heating at any usage. So, this is much of a Business type of laptop and not more of gaming. Graphics is not upto mark as compared to other laptops but it can run many games above 50FPS easily. What bothered me is the GPU heating under the laptop. I recommend to use this laptop on a cooling pad when playing games to give more air for GPU or just raise the back of laptop for about 1 inch by a book for air to flow into middle vents underneath. REMEMBER: IF YOU SEE ANY PROBLEM ON THE LAPTOP FLIPKART WILL TAKE IT BACK WHEN YOU SHOW THE PROBLEM WHILE RETURNING. I GOT A GOOD ONE BUT ONE OF MY FRIEND GOT THIS WITH KEYBOARD PROBLEM. IN HIS LAPTOP KEYBOARD FINISH WAS NOT GOOD AND WHEN THE LEFT SIDE KEYS WERE PRESSED, ALONG WITH KEYS THE BASE OF KEYBOARD WAS ALSO GOING DOWN A LITTLE JUST LIKE CUSHION. HE JUST RETURNED AND RE-ORDERED IT.
Every configuration is OK. But, you only HD Screen NOT 1920x1080 Full HD. It is not suitable for Gaming. And it is not worth for the money. HP has other models slightly 4K more with FHD
This Review Is not for Product Just for Flipkart Bcoz I Check on Hp india website and also confirm their Hp Store this is not a Touch Smart Model Flipkart Is just confusing customer that this Laptop is Touch But Actually when i Figure out this Machine is not Touch Now flipkart changed their information regarding product Now Come to product Product is totally marvelous What u want when u get 4gb nvidia 750m graphic Gaming like ps4 well as per core i7-4702mq is quad core with 8 thread which can handle any task smoothly 8 gb ram is very enough for gaming 1tb gamers we want it windows 8.1 start use win 8 then u will forgot win 7 camera is true vision and awesome graphic card
I want to clear 1 thing that those peoples who want to buy LAPTOPS for gaming..... they got a real shit like me after playing GAMES on laptops because Laptops get heat tooo much whn playing games and Games starts hanging i have this laptop and i also done this mistake.... Better go for pc for gaming it costs u under 50k(50000)....and if wanna laptop also so go for 30k(30000)...PC+LAPTOP=80000....instead of bying these shit laptops go for pc and cheaper laptops..... I have done this mistake please dont buy if u really wanna to play games...
