Follow-up review: Laptop replaced for a brand new sealed box by Flipkart, within 2 days - which is great! I have installed Windows 7 on this laptop now and its running perfect. HP site don't have the drivers for Win7, so you have to get the Win7 drivers for the model "HP ProBook 4540s Notebook" (as was suggested on HP forum) and most of the drivers will work. For the remaining, connect to internet -> go to device manager -> select the devices for which the drivers were not installed -> Update the drivers from internet = It will work!! This laptop is great value for money, so go for it. I got it for 17.5k on exchange offer. This laptop is new generation one made ideally for Win8, however Win7 worked (and I checked on forums, it will work with WinXP too). Linux...try Mint OS as you have to install the Windows wifi drivers to make it work. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Received the laptop without the User Guide and Manuals (no driver DVD either). I have installed Windows 7 but I don't have the required drivers to make it work properly. I checked the HP website even for drivers, they just have reference to Windows 8!! Also, the HP box looks to be resealed using tape. Three signs that the item received is a replacement piece: 1. User Guide and Manuals missing from sealed box 2. The cellophane sticker which usually comes over the lid was missing! 3. Battery was already attached to the laptop - have you seen any new device havings its battery attached?! Leave alone laptops. Flipkart claims all products are 100% new...then maybe the distributer playing some games.
Ordered HP 2000-2d01TU Laptop on 25th November 2013 and it was delivered on 28th, to my surprise. Thanks to Flipkart and WS Retail. Hats off to their coordinated efforts. Laptop with 2nd generation Celeron Dual core processor, 64 bit win8 loaded, 2GB RAM, 500 GB HDD is excellent for the day to day work, that too for the cost, Rs 17760/-, I paid on exchange. I love the glossy black finish. I started working in this machine for more than 12 hours a day, from the day I received, setting aside my high end 50k Dell. No heating effect, anywhere, even after hours of streaming HD movies. Battery comes for more than 6 hours of continuous usage. Altec speakers are superb. HDMI play back of the movies on LED TV is pleasant. Chequered Touchpad with multi-touch pinch and scroll is wonderful. Looks bit plastic. I am very much happy with this machine and recommend for those looking for low budget day to day laptop. This I am writing after using the machine for more than two weeks.
i purchased this laptop a week ago. It works like a charm, very good laptop for everyday use, the webcam is amazing..... and flipkart, trustworthy as always!
