This series of laptop used to come with an Intel processor and integrated Intel HD graphics.nnThankfully HP got its senses back and switched to a discrete graphics from ATI. And ATI tastes best with AMD.nnMy first priority in buying a new laptop was the amount of VRAM that was available. And the place where you talk of powerful graphics, it's just a waste to speak of portability. But, weighing at nearly 3 kgs, this doesn't really bug you.nnFirst off, this beast plays Crysis 3, UT3, at nearly 30 fps at most high settings. During that, if you decide to switch back to the desktop and then to the game again, there'll be a slight pause, but no glitches at all.nnCorel Painter 12 with 20 large scale layers and Cyberlink Power Director on editing of 1080p video were gliding as if butter on hot toast.nnThe screen's contrast by default is too much, it'd be advisable to reduce it. The in-built Altec Lansing speakers are decent enough to fill a room with ambient sound. Don't expect a club atmosphere though.nnAccording to Windows rating, every other hardware component of this machine scores well above 6, save for the HDD which has a rating of 5.9.nnYou'd be getting the Windows 8 single language edition preinstalled and it'd feel as if it were made for this PC itself. The touchpad's multitouch feature may require some practice though.nnThe HD cam stands true to the 'HD' part. And takes real good snaps in low light, considering that there's no flash.nnThe long and short of it -nnPros -n1. Great laptop in an economical budget, will fare well for the mediocre gamern2. Battery juices out 3 hours at max performance, which is quite good.n3. Great looks, considering it to be a heavy duty machine.nnCons -n1. Not quite in favour of the touchpad.n2. For an extra 500-1000, HP could have put in a backlit keyboard.n3. Dual graphics switching is still a bit buggy on Windows 8, may fare well on Win 7.n4. The palm rest places could have been of a matte finish.nnBut, as a final verdict, if you can't go for Alienware now and want to play games or work on graphics intensive programs, go for this baby....!!nnIt won't disappoint you.nnAnd by the way, I placed the order on 15th January at 1:50 AM, had this in my hands on 16th January, 11:00. I don't even know how I should be praising Flipkart. You guys would give the Flash a run for his money!
How funny is your knowledge, depending upon the version of autocad only dirt3 is intensive game, others are neither processor hungry or memory intensive, next time store guys show you responsiveness of a PC, ask him to run metro 2033 along with Maya 2011.
Great machine, value for money..nhad been to one of the HP exclusive showroom in Bangalore, the sales guy there demonstrated features on this lappi.. i was just amazed, he showed me close to 25 applications running at a time & all without any glitches.. for ex, he opened facebook, gmail, google search, yahoo chat, excel, word, winamp playing songs, real player playing videos, uploading HD pics on facebook, video chat on Gtalk, Autocad, Dirt3 Game etc etc all at a time.. i could see him toggling between these applications & system responding very quick to all these actions.. what else u can demand, i've made my mind to buy it, just seeing if FK can offer good freebees, then am game for it..!
Hi everyone, I purchased this laptop from flipkart. I would have not taken my time to write a review if it was a normal case, I am writing review keeping in mind that it may help others in future.nMost of the reviews on flipkart were a Eulogy, about the delivery of flipkart, without surprise even I am satisfied with their service, they delivered the promise. I stay in Bangalore and the product arrived all the way from Noida, Seller: WS Retail. As soon I received I opened the package with exhilaration and pleased to see packing. It was lucid that the product was Brand New. I am delighted to see the free backpack it was amazing. Till here everything was great and here starts my agony. As soon as I Turned on the creature it started giving chopper noise. I tried to figure out from where it was actually coming from, finally i could make out that it’s the fan noise. Immediately there is spate of comments from people around me. All AMD products are same; we can’t rely on Flipkart; you should have bought in a retail store; one of the comments to appease me says all the laptops sound the same don’t worry. nI can't Blame flipkart for a manufacturing defect ,but still it will be quiet depressing when you buy something after a long wait and it turns out to a tawdry product. Immediately I picked up my mobile and called to Hp support (number mentioned on laptop left bottom). After holding on line for 15 min a lady with US accent attended the call. She registered the complaint before that she try to figure out the problem by restarting BIOS settings and all other funny stuff which didn’t work out well and finally gave a docket number. Within 15 mins a guy from Hp called saying he has a prior knowledge of this problem and heard about the same from few other customers he can resolve the problem just by updating the BIOS version. I got the laptop with older version of BIOS as it was manufactured in NOV 2012. He mailed me a link and asked me to install the file and if problem still persists he said he will send a site Engineer by End of the day. As usual things didn’t work out in single step and I had to call for a Site Engineer support. It was Friday afternoon and I could only see site engineer on Monday afternoon. Even he was frenetic hearing the chopper noise and said it was a faulty fan and he said he will replace it, I rejected the replacement of fan instead asked for a New Laptop. He spoke to his supervisor and directed my request to HP directly. Of my Good Fortune HP agreed to replace the Laptop and mailed me DOE letter in 5 days and asked me to contact flipkart within 14 days of DOE received date. I mailed to cs@flipkart.com on the same day and they reacted quite well and forwarded my request to appropriate department who accepted to replace my laptop within 5 working days. Within in seven days I received a new laptop Mfg Date May 2013 and I had to handover all the contents of old laptop in same condition as it arrived to me (including cartoon boxes). nTill here I was taciturn about performance of laptop. I could have written review 15days back, but was waiting to see the performance of this BEAST. Now, THE BEAST UNLEASHED it is really an awesome laptop for a Novice, Gamer and Professional. It was an ALL in ONE. It is quite, calm, beautiful definitely not like previous faulty one. All the applications run butter soft on it. Starts with a blink and turn offs with jet speed. Features which need a great applauds are 1. Dolby digital speakers. (You can’t expect anything more than this in any laptop in any segment) 2. HD camera is descent great picture quality.n3. 2.5 GB graphic card runs all games smoothly, with a 4 GB ram and 500 GB hardisk. It will be mammoth if you add on one more 4 GB graphic card. Over all I would rate this product as 4.5/5.nIn addition I got a backpack from HP easily worth 1000 bucks and 2000 gift voucher under HP student offer valid till July 31st, 2013. I purchased a wireless mouse and all in one headset with this voucher.nAll these came with a great price tag ,I am not at all remorse for this purchase now and overjoyed for this Purchase.
first thing i want to say that i brought this mean machine from a local dealer store from kolkata. nnNow coming to the laptop's review this machine is a beast in disguise. Though i would say that the processor is on the weaker side a bit. Inspite of it being a quad core processor it is just a hair breadth behind intel's i5 3rd gen. If i give intel's i5 3rd gen 10 then i would give this amd A8 9.75.nn Ram is quite good i.e. 4Gb DDR3 1600 Mhz, though 6Gb would have been better but who cares more is always better and taking into the account the of price this laptop 4Gb is well and good. nnThis system has dual ati graphics with 512 mb integrated and 2Gb dedicated amounting to 2.5Gb of powerful graphics memory but somehow the system is showing 4019 mb of graphics in dxdiag, i dont know how. The graphics chip is also quite good ati radeon 7670m of ati radeon hd mobility series Refer to Gamedebate . com for reviews on this graphics card.nn The HDD could have been atleast 1TB but at this price who cares. The only problem with the HDD is that it has 5400 rpm when the world has moved onto 7400rpm. Though i would suggest to exchange the supplied HDD with a lower capacity, say 60 or 90 GB, SSD and buy a good 1TB Ext HDD from the market to make the system Blazing fast. The SSD's have a R/W speed of 1-2 GB/s.nn Heating is not also much(resonable amount i have not played any hard core games yet). nnThe display here is specified is HD LED display but i didnot like the display. nnA backlit keyboard would have been helpful. There is no separate key for wifi and bluetooth toggle function only one key for toggling between airplane mode on and off. No num pad on state indicator only caps lock on state indicator available. There is a separate numpad for numeric inputs. The keys feel quite hardy and feel as though they could withstand the hardcore laptop keyboard gaming sessions. The keys are also well spaced. The touchpad is excellent with a function to turn it off.nn The only downside is the battery life , hardly around 3-3.5 hours on max performance, but i hope the battery juices out 4-4.5 hours on power saver mode.nn The sound is good enough for the laptop speakers though better than ones on lenovo and dell.nn The weight is also quite light. It may be given 2.47 in the specifications but belive me when carrying around it fells quite light.nn The Windows Experience Rating is 5.9---->processor 6.3, Ram 5.9, Graphics 6.7, Gaming Graphics 6.7 ,Primary HDD 5.9nnOverall this is a beast for almost free. I would give it 4 stars due to the RAM & HDD. In my opinionn GO FOR IT.
