i have been using galaxy ace from past 2 years and my room mate decided to buy an android phone I suggested him this phone as it was a combination of good hardware with a brand name and yet so cheap. 2.16 GB is available (1.05 GB user accesible for media and around 1GB is reserved to install apps from market or other source) display , battery , performance everything is great. a little disappointed with speakers but for 8k price its ok. video recording could have been better as per the available hardware. awesome customisation of jelly bean by huawei devs... surely will astonish you. a slim phone , light in weight and pretty awesome built quality. surely better choice than samsung young and nowadays every phone is built in china only even the iphone (designed in california) and market pundits have predicted huawei as the next mobile giant... so dont be scared about the brand at all, they have there reputation at stake. and yes it has a compass.

Hai Guys... I bought this device from a local outlet in my town... n I am totally impressed with this device I am using this device for 3weeks n i will be able to give u a detailed indepth review... I was using samsung galaxy ace before n my dad is using samsung galaxy s3... Galaxy ace is not even compareable with the Huawei ascend Y300 n Huawei ascend Y300 can be even compared with s3... I was aimng of buyng a Indian brand like karbonn or micromax at first but nw i can say that guys dnt go for such devices n its only waste of money... Go for this device it will never disappoint u ! It is haveing all the specs of mobile worth 15,000 First I will say about the pros : Its haveing a 4inch IPS display with a reslutn of 480*800 with a ppi of abv 200, Its very good display n colours r vivid n saturated... Far better than my galaxy ace display It has a 1 GHz Qualcomm ARM Cortex-A5, Dual Core processor with a dedicated adreno 203 GPU with 512 mb of ram n 4gb of internal memory on wich 2.5 gb is user available ! I was able to play top games like Temple run 2, Gta 3, Gangester Rio on this device with any single lag ! So this device is the Best option for heavy users ! :) Its haveing a 5mp autofocus camera with a led flash n it gives the best output pictures n it also have a front camera for video calls n skype! :) Best battery backup with 1700+ mah! N for me it will give my 2days of back up with daily average usage of full time wifi usage, some gameing, 100msgs n 1hour of call ! Best in the class... :) The custamized launcher is too a good one on which we can get something better than stock android ! The best part is that it comes with Android 4.1 (jelly bean) out of the box ! So the top features like Google Now is available in this device ! :) Cons : still searching... Haveing yet find anything ! :D Bt as i am a skype user the front camera can be of a 2mp ! Bt tatz nt even a problem for this price range... Guys... Jst go for this device, it will never disappoint u n its haveing top end features n is well built ! :) :)

1.) Till now there is no root method available. But it will be like every phone has. 2.) It plays these all three games smoothly. 3.) It has no digital compass. Only 3 sensors (proximity, Ambient light, Accelerometer) 4.) Yes, the box contains extra black panel. Also a few things to consider: 1.) it has a very beautiful looking notification LED. 2.) Battery backup is decent. Makes you through a day with average use. 3.) Photos taken in dark environments using flash are very yellow tinted. 4.) also there are some graphic issues with GTA vice city, The dark knight rises. FIFA 12 runs fine but audio stutters a bit. 5.) volume through the speakers is very low. If the phones on bed normally (not flipped over), you will not hear your ringtone even if you are just a meter away. But audio through loudspeaker is decent while using FM. Also clear via earphones. 6.) In box earphones are just trash. 7.) Apps can be installed to SD like q800 benchmark scores are: Antutu : 6286 quadrant standard: 2334 multitouch: 5 point

Received on 17th June, till now working fine without problems. Here are some tips to solve some issues: 1. Regarding sending auto SMS. Go to settings>Manage Apps>All> (Find com.huawei.android.gpms) and DISABLE it. your prob is solved )) 2. All those who are not happy with Huawei unlock screen and want to use android unlock screen. Go to settings>Manage Apps>All>Huawei unlock and Disable it. Now go to Themes and press Customize current theme. from there you can change Screen lock style and Lock screen wallpaper also. And at last if you want to use pattern lock then go to Settings>Security>Screen Lock and choose lock of your choice. I am using Apex Launcher and it is prefect with Y300. Go get it from App store )) This is for novices like me who want to customize their mobile a little. Android Experts need not to comment on my post )) Cons: Battery backup is really poor..
