Hero Electric will soon launch the updated range of Hero Optima CX electric scooters for 2022. According to the details that have been revealed through the official transport department website (via Rushlane), Hero Electric will be launching the new 2022 Hero Optima CX lightweight electric scooter in India soon.
The electric scooter will be available in two trim levels, namely CX and the CX ER (Extended Range), and will target the commuter segment majorly. Hero Electric is likely to introduce substantial changes to the e-scooter which would include a bump in power and efficiency as well as the introduction of newer features and practicality items.
2022 Hero Optima CX specifications, features (expected)
Hero Electric is readying the 2022 Hero Optima CX electric scooters for launch and will bring a host of upgrades over the current generation of models. The 2022 Hero Optima CX will be offered in two trim levels – CX and CX ER (Extended Range). The new trims are likely to replace the Optima HX line of e-scooters. The 2022 Hero Optima CX trims might even differ in the battery configuration as well. The lower CX variant is expected to get a single battery pack while the CX ER variant will get dual battery packs for adding on some extra range.
The new Optima CX is expected to be thoroughly reworked both in terms of mechanicals as well as its aesthetics. The 2022 Optima CX will get a restyled body that will bring the design up to 2022 standards. Under the skin, the new Optima CX is expected to host a 25 percent more powerful yet 10 percent more efficient electric motor and will hence post better performance stats as compared to the outgoing models.
The entry-level CX variant will get a single 52.2V / 30Ah Lithium Ferro Phosphate battery pack and will deliver a range of 82km. In the higher CX ER trim which will get two of these battery packs, the 2022 Optima will boast of a 140km range. The battery will deliver power to a 550W electric motor that generates 1.6bhp of peak power and takes the scooter up to a speed of 45kmph which when compared to the outgoing Optima HX is 3kmph faster. Braking abilities have also been increased by about 30 percent. Overall sturdiness has been improved by 25 percents thanks to reworked chassis.
When it comes to features, the 2022 Hero Optima CX is expected to add on some new-age features that will increase the appeal of the scooter. Some notable features that should make it to the new model include cruise control, walk assist, reverse mode, digital instrument cluster, USB charging port, LED lighting systems, and a remote key with an anti-theft alarm system. It is expected to ride on 12-inch wheels wrapped in 90 section tyres.
Given the additional features, the price tag on the 2022 Hero Optima CX will be higher than the current models. At the moment the Hero Optima HX costs Rs 55,850 (ex-showroom) and the extended range version costs Rs 65,640 (ex-showroom).
