Acer Aspire 5s laptop with Intel Whiskey 8th-Gen processor launched, alongside Swift 3 laptops

Acer has refreshed its Aspire and Swift-series of laptops with the launch of the new Aspire 5s and Aspire 3. While the Aspire 5s laptop comes in just one screen size – which is 15.7-inch, the Aspire 3 can be picked in two display sizes of 14-inch and 15.6-inch. Apart from this, all the three laptops sport a narrow bezel display “for full cinematic experience” and metallic built. Moreover, the Aspire 5s features the latest Intel Whiskey Lake processor to deliver performance.

Starting with the specifications of the Acer Aspire 5s laptop, it is powered by 8th-Gen Intel Core i3/ i5 processor accompanied by NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics and Intel Optane memory. The notebook’s 15.7-inch IPS panel sport a resolution of Full HD (1080p) and a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The screen also supports Acer’s BluelightShield technology that reduces blue-light emission to protect your eyes. Apart from the usual connectivity features, the Aspire 5s also gets a 2X2 MIMO Wi-Fi 802.11ac. Acer claims that the laptop comes with a precision Touchpad, which provides smooth navigation. Lastly, it tips the scale at 1.45kg with its weight and 18.8mm in thickness.

The Acer Swift 3, on the other hand, is slightly more premium with upgraded specs. The notebook employs Intel’s Core 8130U/ 8250U processors, paired with up to 8GB of RAM, 512GB SSD storage, and Intel Optane memory. Both 15.6-inch and 14-inch screen variants of the Aspire 3s support Full HD (1,920 x 1080p) resolution and a 178-degree viewing angle. For graphics, the laptop’s 15.6″ option employs NVIDIA GeForce MX150/ MX 130x graphics card. Just like the Aspire 5s, the Aspire 3s also offers 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac wireless technology for seamless connectivity. Both variants weigh about 1.45kg.

While the battery capacity of the Aspire 5s and Aspire 3 were not revealed in the press release, the company claims that it’s enough to last up to 12 hours. Moreover, all the variants are loaded with features such as Windows Hello, Skype for Business, and Cortana voice assistant. Both the laptops run Windows 10 out of the box.

The Acer Aspire 4s has been priced at Rs 40,999, while the Acer Swift 3 retails from Rs 64,999. Both the notebooks will be available for sale across Acer Exclusive stores, leading electronic retail stores and multi-brand outlets.
