Acer unveils the Nitro 5 gaming laptop, refreshed Spin 1 notebook and two Iconia tablets

Taiwanese tech giant Acer recently took to the stage and unveiled a range of devices which include a budget gaming laptop, two new tablets and a refreshed model of the brand’s Spin 1 convertible notebook.

Talking about the gaming laptop first, the company announced the Nitro 5 laptop which has been targeted towards gamers ion a budget. The laptop comes in several different configurations comprising of either 7th generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors which work alongside the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti GPU, or AMD’s FX, A10 or A12 processors which work in parallel with Radeon RX550 graphics. The Nitro 5 comes with a 15.6-inch full HD display and can be paired with up to 32GB of RAM. For connectivity, buyers will get a USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet and an HDMI 2.0 port.

Acer is also updating its Spin 1 convertible notebook this year with a refreshed design and newer internals. The convertible comes equipped with Intel’s Celeron and Pentium processors and sports an 11.6-inch 1080p display. The notebook gets 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC storage. The company also claims that the Spin 1 can last users 8 hours off a single charge.

Lastly, Acer has also unveiled two new tablets dubbed the Iconia Tab 10 and the Iconia One 10. Both the tablets are being driven by quad-core MediaTek processors, run Android Nougat upon first boot and boast 8-hours of battery life. The more premium of the two models is the Iconia Tab 10 which has been targeted at media-centric users and comes with a quantum dot display as well as a built-in subwoofer for better media consumption. On the other hand, the Acer Iconia One 10 has been targeted to increase the productivity and offers more connectivity options in the form of two microUSB ports. 

As for the pricing, the Nitro 5 gaming laptop will start at $799 (~Rs. 51,500) whereas the Spin 1 convertible notebook will start at $329 (~Rs 21,200). Acer hasn’t announced the pricing for the two Iconia tablets yet.
