India marked new beginnings with the launch of 5G mobile technology at the India Mobile Congress on October 1st. Jio and Airtel are the first telcos to announce their 5G rollout plans. After Jio announced its ‘Welcome Offer’ with a 5G beta trial and unlimited data at 1Gbps speeds in select cities, Airtel is now announcing more details on its Airtel 5G Plus. The telco has revealed the full list of 8 cities that will get Airtel 5G Plus first. Customers in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, Chennai, and Varanasi will get access to Airtel 5G Plus services in a phased manner.
Airtel says that customers who have 5G smartphones can enjoy the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus with their existing data plans until the rollout is more widespread. Airtel says that its 5G network will offer up to 30 times higher speeds than today, combined with brilliant voice experience and super-fast call connection. Customers don’t have to upgrade their SIM to be able to access 5G.

Airtel 5G Plus launched
Airtel 5G Plus has been launched officially in 8 cities across the country. These include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Siliguri, Nagpur, Chennai, and Varanasi. Customers don’t need to change their SIM to get 5G network access. The Airtel 5G Plus will be available on customers’ existing data plans until the rollout is more widespread.
Airtel says that its 5G Plus has three compelling advantages for customers. First, it runs on a technology that has the widest acceptance in the world. This is important because that all 5G smartphones in India seamlessly work on the Airtel network. Second, the company promises to deliver the best experience – between 20 to 30 times higher speeds than today. Finally, Airtel 5G Plus network will also be kinder to the environment with its special power reduction solution.
